Got it last night for the PS3 and it is a great game for the PS. The multiplayer is robust and adding voice chat into it makes it one of the best mutliplayer games for the PS3. The graphics are excellent and the controls are tight. Anyone with a PS3 should pick this up. I like it better then resistence online because it is only 6on6 and you it isn't a run and gun type of game.

There was no Ps3 version back then so if you didn't have an xbox 360 you had to wait.

I still won't be buying my xbox 360 for another year when everything will be cheap.

Admittedly, I'd probably buy the multiplatform shooters optimized/developed on the xbox 360 ahead of the Ps3, due to the controller and the more effort put in by developers for the games.

One area that Rainbow Six: Vegas on the PlayStation 3 does fall a little short on when compared to the other versions is with regards to visuals. It's a nice looking game to be sure, but the whole thing doesn't look quite as sharp as it could. Colors are a little duller and there isn't as much use of certain effects, like bloom lighting and such. Some folks may appreciate that aspect to a certain degree, but beyond that it still doesn't look quite as nice as what we've seen previously. Some texture work isn't quite as sharp, and the characters aren't as detailed as what's found in the 360 release, especially in the faces.

Let's just say Ubisoft is one lazy developer!

the ps3 may or may not be as powerful as they say it is but as a owner of the game on both systems the 360 version is better then the ps3 one. for one i noticed that reflective surfaces ( the hubs on the cars) dont shine like they do on the xbox. the banners in the first stage hanging across the streets when shot at dont move as fluidly either they are kind of jumpy. the color is washed out. and for once i can say i hate the way the sixaxis was used for the snake cam. s

Actually it is. All ported games have to be near enough full rewritten, so things are going to look different.

And the same thing sound wise.

IGN Are poor anywayz, i've read tons of their reviews for along time, even pc, and they generally get it wrong.

I still don't think you xbots get it, 6months extra time is basically just get it running ok on the ps3.

And then it has the maps all you xbots have to pay for,lmao.

I'll tell you guys alittle secret, Lair has 2.5times the graphics data Gears of War has. The 360 could not run it,

LAIR on its own, is better looking then any other game on any system.

well when lair comes out ill see about all of that but as of right now i really feel like i wasted $600 that was supposed to blow me away. so my question is when is sony going to deliver? ive seen the trailers for Drakes fortune and lair they look amazing but i want to see somthing that destroys anything that the xbox throws at them. and everyone is not an xbot because they have an opinion.

Personally, I've already seen the PS3 showcase some groundbreaking stuff.

Namely Formula One.

Each time I walk into a Best-Buy/Future Shop/EB that's playing the F1 demo, my jaw never fails to drop. You may not be into F1 (that's another debate altogether), but there's no denying that it just looks and sounds absolutely like nothing ever seen.

And you may argue that Resistance may arguably not appear as polished and shiny as Gears (using that as an example because it's 'the' showcase piece of the 360.), but it's definitely not too shabby in the graphics department. Graphics aside, what I want to stress about the game is the number and MAGNITUDE of events that are taking place at the same time - all without a slightest hiccup in frame rate.

Can the 360 handle that? Maybe. But I've personally yet to see or experience any game on ANY platform similar to that giant, enormous gun battle that takes place later in the Resistance campagn (the one with the 3-4 giant spider machines.), or at the very end of the game, where Hell is just absolutely breaking out EVERYWHERE around you, as you desperately scramble to destroy the reactors. If there were ever times I truly felt 'in the game'...it was during those moments.

Motorstorm: Arguably lacking in the features department, but there's no denying that it stands alone in the graphics finesse department. A definite showcase piece.

I think your frustration is more the result of waiting for more, earth-shattering good stuff to hit (i.e., Drake's Fortune), but one thing for sure is that you're not going the see the PS3 'destroy anything the XBox throws at them' with a recycled, shoe-horned port such as R6 Vegas.

This is the Best Game out know. The Online Multiplayer for this game is perfect so don't kid yourself. I had this game on the 360 and now I have it on the PS3. NOne of the online games out today can touch this game. I have played Halo 2, Shadowrun, Lost Planet, Resistance, and Gears of War Online and this is the best. I can play for 8 hours strait and it does not get old because no other game does Online better. If you like Playing online regardless if you have a PS3 or a 360 this is a must buy, matter fact don't even waste your time buying any other games for online just get this one and it is all you need. The 360 version and the PS3 version look identical in 720p but the PS3 version looks a little washed in 1080i so play it at 720p but this is the best port I have seen from UBISOFT as of date and the graphics is not what sells this game it is the gameplay.(The PS3 port was rendered in 720p so play it in 720p) The online gameplay is perfect and I wish all online games Played exactly like this game. The single player is good the multiplayer is where this game shines. This game ALSO GIVES OUT THE TROPHIES ON THE PS3 VERSION so that is cool. I give this game a 10 with the best Multiplayer ever made hands down.

the yahoo review actually said the PS3 had a few visual enhancements, but at the end of the day, this is all splitting hairs. during gameplay are you really going to notice some of this minute stuff?

The darkness is also supposed to have better textures in the 360 version, still looks great.. but this is attributable to the developers lack of desire to make a financial commitment

pick this game up last night to so freaking sweet i love the multiplayer and almost completed story mode with my 2 friends that have this game for ps3 on psn GREAT GAME GET IT PS3 OWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I need as much help as possible for my dilemna here. I have $130 right now and I've already decided that half of it is for NGS. So here's my question. Where should I spend the other half? Should I go for RV6 or the Darkness? They both got really good reviews and I honestly don't know which one to get. So again, help a brother out here pls. Thanks

Possible suggestion:

Sacrifice $10-15 and rent both to see which one you prefer?

A friend on this site who purchased The Darkness, advised that though it is a fun game, I may want to rent it.

In addition, I've read that Darkness story game play will only require 8-10 hours, and multiplayer is nothing to brag about.

On the other hand, R6 Vegas has long been raved for being a fantastic game, as well as a top-notch multiplayer experience.

But I've personally played neither.

Therefore, my limited knowledge would suggest to go with R6 Vegas (all else being equal.)

yeah its out...I have been looking forward to this for the last couple weeks...I new it would be one or the other (r6 V or the Darkness) that I would end up picking up, but it will most likely be this...

I will definitely rent the Darkness to play through it...but online is the only thing that can keep replay value up...

got it yesterday, and its amazing to me the controls are more loose on the ps3 than the 360, but no matter what, anyone with a ps3 or 360 should have bought this game, in honest if you dident than those are the people who are stupid.........
