Last time they did a city with a huge ethnic population, It was the best GTA of the series (San Andreas).

It's pretty obvious to anyone who's played some of The Ballad of Gay Tony that the next GTA is probably gonna be in London. It hints at trouble in London often.

Either ATL or Las Vegas would be good. Even though I was born in NYC, I'm tired seeing it allways on the forefront of GTA games (even movies for the matter)

It's obvious that race is important in GTA games in order to maintain a suitable and new/fresh story. Just as important as the location. Don't be so sensitive. hmmm I thought of something.do you think its a good idea for the next GTA game to be based on a city from outside the US? you know cities from russia,brasil,colombia,china,j apan,etc... or at least the guy can travel to 3 cities from different countries.I think this might be interesting.I know some of you prefer it to be another city in the US but people outside the US play GTA because it's a great game and they don't care if it's based on an american city.hey some even don't know if this city is NY or San Fransisco!I don't know about you but I like this idea for a change ;)

Customisation is the thing I thought we'd see more of in GTA after SA as that's one of the things people loved so much about it so I was pretty baffled as to why there was so little customisation in GTA4.

i dunno about you guys, but with all the open world city games we've already had, and all the excellent ones about to come out, red dead, l.a. noire, etc. its about time someone recreates the fifth element like city in the future, with the huge skyscrapers and layers of floating traffic. imagine this. you're flying around in your car and take a nose dive down through all the layers of traffic as cops are hot on your tail as they're being taken out by oncoming traffic and neon signs (ala judge dredd) then you're racing through the depths of the city reminiscent of blade runner with all the crazy bars and strip joints, then you rear back up towards the sky with the cops still on your tail, then as your car is smoking and about to explode you bail out only to free fall and land in the back of someone else's car (ala fifth element) and then proceed to jack the car throwing the person out of the car sending them hurling towards the bottom of the city. meanwhile the car you dove out off is now crashing down creating insane crashes with traffic and all sorts of !@#$ is going on. aside from that sounding like amazing gameplay to me, it's territory that hasn't been explored with the sandbox gta gameplay style. lets face it, the gangster/gang member has been done, we had driver parrallel lines in the 70's, we had vice in the 80's, we had III set in 90's/2000 and IV in current times. not to mention red dead thats coming out (which looks amazing) l.a. noire in the 40's, and mafia 1 and 2 in the 40's-50's. (there was red faction guerrilla on mars too) just think of the fifth element idea on the euphoria/rage engine physics from gtaIV and tell me that doesn't sound awesome. theres even hierarchy within that kind of futuristic city (bottom levels is where you start out, doing low missions, then you get tot he middle levels of the city (main business and metropolitan area, then the top levels are where all the serious boss' hang out and overlook their city. don't get me wrong i love the social commentary in the sandbox games that are set in today, but ever since the fifth element came out and i played gta3 i've thought this would be an awesome game, and now developers could easily do it. you tube the fifth element car chase scene if you don't think this would be a great idea

also, i forgot to mention, the new true crime is being set in hong kong, and the yakuza games already have that department taken care of as far as story goes. and getaway is the game i'd want handling london if there were to be a london game

But think about it. Rockstar already have alot of assets available on their Racing game, Midnight Club LA. It uses the same engine as GTA4. I think it will be LA.

I think it should be in brazil, because they got nice beaches, girls, criminality in Brazil is crazy! Imagine your character being from the favelas and as a kid he would always do bad stuff, kill people, deal and rob. I would like R* to tell the story of the character better. What do you guys think?

I agree with Treeson47. The only better/equal GTA than a futuristic Fifth/Element, Judge Dredd style metropolis with flying cars, vertical traffic and Euphoria 2.0 Would be a true next gen sequel to Vice City.

And its been said already but Yakuza takes care of Japan and The Getaway takes care of London. The next GTA has to either stay in the U.S. or go Futuristic. There can be no other locations. Brazil would be a joke, so would New Orleans. Suggestions like these are just from people who live in these cities and happen to post on N4G.
