gow3,uncharted 2 and mgs4 are becoming headaches for multi plat developers.

do they use blurays advantage to theirs or limit their ideas and stick with dvd9? they could make two versions of the same game but ms would try put a stop to that, they could go exclusive but then they would make more revenue going multiplat, this is why theres anger that microsoft is stopping gaming as a whole from progressing and why so many developers are now being vocal about the constraints now and it'll only get worse as time goes on because as we have seen sonys exclusives have improved graphically yearly since ps3s release, just think how many developers would love their game to win 150 accolades like uncharted?

rockstar thankfully chose the latter option in the form of.....'agent' and from things they have said you get the feeling this is the game they wanted gta4 to be.

this whole disc constraint problem is going to get alot worse

“#GOW3 35Gb of goodness. Thank heavens for Dual Layer Blu-Rays”

Wait, but I thought Blu-Ray was not needed. ROFL

lol totally true also this game is just too good i just cant wait to have it in my hands

NickIni5583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

You can't really accuse Microsoft of holding back technology. Sony took a gamble with Blu-Ray and it paid off, Blu-ray could have gone lost the format war at great expense to Sony, fortunately it didn't. When Microsoft designed the 360 it was unknown how newer formats would perform, so they played it safe.

Jamie Foxx5583d ago

the HD-DVD and bluray concept was finished way before 360 and ps3 was released, microsoft could have gone with hd-dvd as standard but

1)they would have had maybe only a half year headstart rather than a year
2)price would have increased

so basically microsoft thought of their pockets and beating ps3 to the punch rather than whats best for their consumer and gaming

another good thing if microsoft had waited to include hd-dvd and not rush the console to market would have been correcting the mistakes on the faulty console and eliminating RROD before it started.

SaiyanFury5583d ago

Actually, the BD topology can be applied even further than a standard 50GB dual-layer. Pioneer is developing high capacity discs directly based on current BD technology that will expand ultimate capacity up to 400GB. Their research shows capacity to be usable on current BD lasers and drives and should be available in the future at a reasonable price. They've been working on this for a long time, and eventually, 400GB BD discs could be the future, and ultimately compatible with the PS3. That bodes well for developers looking for high capacity solutions that want to develop very large games, but don't want to move beyond the current BD drive format. Sony wasn't wrong with integrating BD drives in PS3s. They wanted to future-proof the console and have done very well in doing so. The Xbox 360's DVD-based medium's lack of expandability is ultimately doomed in terms of future expansion. As the proliferation of HD graphics and content expands, you need more space on discs. BD is the future. At the very least, the near future.

leila015583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

Can you guys imagine the amount of space GT5 is going to require!?

EDIT: I just remembered, God of War 3 will be released with a lot of "bonus content", so that + uncompressed audio are probably going to eat up some space.

NickIni5583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

Microsoft were unwilling to gamble with a format that was unproven to be successful, and in all fairness they had every right to be. Sony took a risky business strategy by adopting blu-ray. Hell, if it had bombed it would have had colossal impact on how the PS3 performed sales wise.

Lifendz5583d ago

Or maybe because Dante's Inferno fit on one DVD it still isn't necessary? /s

35GB, without video files!!!

Chaos695583d ago

Actually, it has tons of video and audio files (making-of, behind the scenes, recap of the GOW series...). I looking forward to the game too, but lets cut the BS ok.

raztad5583d ago

@Nikini

Although I agree MS cant be blamed for playing safe, the xbox360 was a step backwards for the platform. Where is the Hard Disk? at least a 20G HD would had allow for installing games (or part of it) as a standard policy. NVM. MS just played cheap and the results show.

On topic: 35G of non cgi pure gameplay madness. I've been playing GoW Collection and GoW2 blew me away. Incredible graphics for a PS2 game. Textures are mindblowing, so much detail. The PS2 was a little powerful beast.

Rainstorm815583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

Sony is known for taking choices ie: Cd developed partly by sony, DVD, and now Blu Ray. Sony is for the advancement of storage technology..

Where as microsoft is for keeping things the same as long as possible(ie : Windows). They only take risks when they see other companies' risks paying off. (like Zune & entering the console market)

Blu ray and DVD were quickly successful because of Sony(original xbox couldnt play DVD movies out of the box remember?), taking risks and putting the formats in their gaming consoles and it payed off, for the industry and for gamers. If MS took a chance on HD DVD, HD DVD mightve been the standard right now.

No Risk = No Reward

In the end there will only be Blu Ray

FamilyGuy5583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

And don't forget, there is NO cgi anywhere in this game to bloat that size. It's all in-game content.

Oops
"Actually, it has tons of video and audio files (making-of, behind the scenes, recap of the GOW series..."

he's right

Shaman5583d ago

MS didnt have a choice.First thing is that Sony didnt expect blu ray diodes to fu*** up release date, but they did.Second thing Sony didnt think they will have to delay it for year and half on their biggest market(Europe)and in the end they wanted to kill two birds with one stone:while risking blu ray they will at the end win format war and the second ps2 users will buy ps3,now if ps3 didnt come out so late and expensive that would probably happen. In the end MS did what they had to do,be first in next gen market no matter of what, and they succeed now Sony plays catchin up.

Rainstorm815583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

I agree because of their decision they are curently playing catch up in the sales department.

But that same decision leaves everyone else playing catch up in the game quality department.

No game on 360 or Wii will win over 150 awards, Why you ask? Because they both still have one foot in the last generation.360 with DVD & Wii with being a gamecube.

I predict the gap will only increase as devs master the blu ray and the PS3 & the sales gap is already decreasing. (gap shrank by 3 mil in one quarter) I also think PS3 exclusives will continue to surpass all gamers' expectations.

Sony does these tough decisions so their consoles can have longevity.
10 year life span anyone?

sikbeta5583d ago

WOW That's a Lot, HUGENESS Gaming Experience and YES, Blu-Ray is NECESSARY

Gamers FTW!!!

beavis4play5583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

MS will be forced to come out with SOMETHING new (natal?) in hopes of remaining relevant. ps3 1st/2nd party games continue to impress with every release. sony could stick with the ps3 for another 3 years (if not longer).
by rushing the 360 out early with dvd9, they did capture some of the market. BUT, they're now stuck with antiquated technology which looks VERY old next to bluray.
by the time sony moves on from ps3 - i figure they're overall sales will have far outnumbered xbox360 sales. MS f#cked up in not considering the long-term ramifications of staying with dvd9. because of this, MS will be forced to abandon the 360 much sooner than sony will have to with the ps3. and with games looking the way they do right now on ps3,
MS will have a difficult time trying to sell a new system to non-360 customers.

pixelsword5583d ago

"Blu-Ray isn't needed".

*laughs*

sack_boi5583d ago

So, uncompressed audio + making-of (1080P) = 20-30GB? Leaving 5-15GB of pure gameplay. That's really good.

pippoppow5583d ago

Instead of seeing their vision through they will design, redesign or cut content for parity across platforms. While I'm sure there is pressure from MS, it is ultimately up to Devs/Pubs but they see with wide eyes and slobber over the money to be made, so vision out the door.

360 not having a standard HD, DVD9 and charging extra for more discs is the reason why most multi-platform games are designed or cut to fit on 1 DVD9. After 7 years making DVD games which were filled to capacity, Devs are still just making games that still just fill up a DVD?!

MS in their desire to launch first to gain an advantage are partly to blame as well. Blu-Ray didn't matter to them and was thought to only benifit movies and even then HD movies didn't matter until Netflix (subHD). Also their desire to try and mass market the console by not including an HD in all 360 consoles further hampered Devs. MS being first out meant a lead greedy Devs couldn't deny.

Ultimately though, Devs are the main culprit. They claim exclusivity when they know it isn't true. They favor one platform/fanbase over another. They charge for DLC already on the disc. The worst offense though is placating to the 360. In doing so they are restraining their artistic creativity that holds back the industry and are doing a disservice to their fans on the PC and PS3 platforms.

Devs with integrity will see their vision through and if it means no 360 version or a gimped 360 version then so be it.

Shaman5583d ago

I dont realize why so many disagrees? Its just facts, and its nothing bad...ok now rainstorm, you have to realize that i did not say anything about games,i mean obviously MGS4 and UC2 won so many awards because they were absolutely incredible, but that is not because of blu ray but rather developers.

Now on Sonys part, you guys can be sure that if Sony knew BR will bring them problems that will result in huge market loss they wouldnt go with blu ray.I mean blu ray is certainly advantage, but i would argue that non standard HDD on MS part is faaar bigger mistake.I dont think dvd is much of problem,to be honest alot of developers would be able to compress data MUCH and ship game on one dvd so you install it on HDD and it would be for example 3 times bigger data. That was biggest mistake, and as for MS abandoning 360,NO that would simply be the single biggest mistake of ALL of the mistakes BIG 3 made. They made a hell of money on software, hardware and LIVE,they were basically forced to abandon xbox,it was to late to the party, but anyone thinking MS is gonna abandon 360 soon is in big denial.

Games will start to ship on 2 dvds and problem solved(only if its not FULL of cgi like FF13,but then again that game sacrificed game for great looking videos),its still much better solution to have BR but its better then nothing.

gamingisnotacrime5583d ago

MS choosing DVD9 over HDDVD may have been a good choice if they planned the 360 cycle to be of 4-5 years, but from this point on developers have already gotten the hang on HD games and are looking in ways to expand their vision, something the low storage in DVD9 cripples all the way.
Sony took the huge risk of launching a $600 console and they were loosing money on each PS3 sold, but for Sony Blu Ray success was way more important than HDDVD success was for MS. Overall, the 360 was okay to launch with DVD9, but 4 years later is looking obsolete, and the quality we are seeing from PS 1st party studios with Uncharted 2, GoW3, GT5, and others to be announced is like the PS4 has bben launched and is competing with the 360, not the 720. There is no challenge in a technical aspect from MS, but the games in 360 are still tons of fun and great looking on their own

Rainstorm815583d ago

U2 filled a single layer blu ray & MGS4 a dual layer blu ray proof of what great devs can do with enough space at hand.

35GB of pure CHAOS
35GB of pure PWNG

yes that GOW3

UltimateIdiot9115583d ago (Edited 5583d ago )

MS did have a choice. They could have went with bluray from the start. I understand they were trying to beat the market but it is also clear that by doing so, you put out an inferior product. If MS had included HDDVD which was what the rumors said from the start, things could have been different. I remember thinking about a 360 before it was out when there was rumor about the HDDVD being included, turns out it was rumor and I end up getting a PS3 because I am the type of person that looks at the long term. I knew the economy was heading towards a recession.

It's quite clear MS did not consider about the long term, rather they wanted to capture a larger market. Now that they have succeed with the economy doing bad, pressure from Sony's 10 year life cycle, and the risk of upsetting their market, it forces MS to stick with the 360 for probably longer than intended.

Shaman5583d ago

No,this is exactly what you guys dont understand.ITS ALL JUST BUSINESS.It was business decision from Sony to introduce BR.They will earn money on EVERY BR player sold,on every br disc sold, they will be payed royalties(well panasonic, phillips and few more...)and they had to gamble, and the best gamble is Playstation brand, their most famous and popular electronic hardware. It was business decision,im sorry for some of you acting like Sonys plane was to give you uncompressed cgi movies and sound just so you can enjoy it and them to lose BILLIONS of dollars in revenue, that was just so they can introduce BR through PS,nothing to do with storage. If it was so they could easily gone with dvd9 and standard HDD with 80 GB and everybody would be happy, sure BR is great advantage but you guys act like Sony intestinally lost so much money to give you cgi movies and looseless sound.

Neither Sony and MS are charity, they are GLOBAL multi billion companies looking for your money and nothing else only Sony thought they will get all those ps2 users and cover up the those losses from so many hardware and software units sold but in the end plan didnt work out,and you are crazy if you think Sony will let SCE to do the same mistake like this time.Money doesent grow on the trees my friends but we are those who give them,i mean i got two broken ps2 neither had free repair and 3 yr warranty like MS gives and there was ALOT of faulty ps2 but you now act like Sony is a saint and MS intentionally screwed with dvd issue and RROD.

Godmars2905583d ago

???

Don't those games have to *be* multiplatform first?

Think you mean to say that to be able to fully explore HD gaming something more than DVD9 is needed. That as long as multiplatform titles are constrained by even considering the 360, those games will be limited.

jack_burt0n5583d ago

I think the 32gb single layer discs are going to hit the market without anyone noticing and those dual layer are 64gb nice little upgrade before the 150gb's.

PS360PCROCKS5583d ago

@ Jamie foxx, man do I have to agree with you. I'm no fanboy, but fuc* man, it's true the xbox IS holding gaming back currently. I would have never admitted that before, but now I'm a PS only owner and I see it. I don't blame Microsoft for not including a disc format they didn't know. But I do give Kudos to Sony, before all I said was "it's only for movies" but it does make a huge advantage to games.

UltimateIdiot9115583d ago

I am well aware Sony is a business but you're thinking in black and white. You talk as if consumers can't benefit, consumers must always loses, and so on. Business needs customers, if you don't give your customers something to be happy about, something that is worth their time and money, then why would they ever come back.

Sony knew they would lose a decent share of the market. Their plans wasn't to maintain the huge market share as the PS2. What they wanted was to push Bluray and protect their brand image.

rexus123455583d ago

Actually MicroSoft did make the right choice with DVDs, the cheap price allowed them to steal a lot of market shares from Sony, but this is a sign they are going loose significantly to Sony if they don't come up with their next gen console really soon.

willie62895583d ago

First lets not bring up faulty hardware, we all know where that argument will end up.

Second, yes I agree that it is business and that Sony and MS are both in the business to make money. However there are different ways to go about it. For example Sony has learned from past mistakes (root-kit anyone?) that it is not in their best interest to screw over their customer. MS on the other hand has no problem giving it to anyone in order to increase profits. Now that is their business and they are free to do that, but I am free to not purchase anything from Microsoft. I have no problems with companies doing business but I wont bend over and grab my ankles while I give them some money.

People need to realize the format war was ended it early 2008. MS has 2 yrs to adopt a BR add-on or continue on its own HD-DVD ext drive, but they dropped both..

MS was playing safe, but now they have became ignorant.

DarkAzureIIIX5583d ago

IHateYouFanboys5583d ago

lol at anyone saying that games like god of war and uncharted wouldnt fit on a DVD, or even for that matter wouldnt be possible on 2 disks.

you do realise that both games are just straight point A to point B linear action games, dont you? both games are HEAVILY scripted, and both feature very little actual explorable terrain. theyre the type of games that could run on the original Playstation, albeit with a big hit in the graphics. take the graphics away from Uncharted 2 and youve basically got crash bandicoot with guns. thats all it is - simple one-dimensional platforming, never more than 1 way to go or 1 way to get there, and the APPEARANCE of a wide open world, but the actual explorable area is TINY.

yes, they take up a lot of space on the disk because sony like to leave EVERYTHING uncompressed for this very reason - so they can tell everyone how it is 'only possible on the ps3'. how there are people that havent cottoned on to this yet, im not sure, but theyve been doing it since before the PS3 launched. remember how Resistance Fall of Man was 'only possible on PS3', despite looking and playing like a PS2 shooter? they said it took up something like 18gb too, saying it wouldnt fit on a dvd. then it came out that they had duplicated pretty much the entire game across the dvd, with some parts more than once, in order to try and speed up load times. it was also uncompressed. the truth is that the game probably wouldve only taken up ~3gb on a dvd due to not needing duplication and being compressed.

God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 would be the same deal. completely uncompressed 7.1 sound, completely uncompressed everything, and probably some data duplication to get the 'no loading' effect that they both have. anyone that thinks for even a SECOND that Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 are not possible on the 360 needs to just admit theyre a sony fanboy.

and look, the fact is that until the MAJORITY of video games need more space than a DVD provides - including being compressed, which any GOOD video game should be - then Blu-Ray is NOT needed. remember, halfway through last generation the sizes of games started DECREASING as developers got more efficient and got to grips with the hardware. sequels that were bigger and better were nearly ALWAYS smaller in GB size than the predecessor.

N4BmpS5582d ago

You know when you say " the fact is..." that doesn't really make it a fact; you're saying Uncharted could fit on a PLAYSTATION? A Playstation, I would like you to support that theory, no matter what you say you would have to take more away from the game besides it's graphics for it to fit on a 5th Generation console, you might as well MW2 can be on Dreamcast, which in any given case no it wouldn't. You're basing your entire argument off of linearity in these two games. Okay lets Do this Halo 3 is virtually a linear game are you going to sit at your computer/laptop and say it could have been put on an older console? let's say Nintendo 64(if it were under their licensing). Another thing you talked about the devs not compressing their data. you fail to mention that, that is really the beauty of Blu-Ray if the developers of Naughty Dog wanted to add more content then they could compressed their game alittle bit and put some new content on the game with no worries. Don't ever bring older console into the fray of an argument again, you made your self sound a little dumber than a fanboy.

IHateYouFanboys5582d ago

yes, Uncharted could be done on the original playstation, minus the graphics. like i said, it essentially was by the exact same people, just with a different main character - crash bandicoot. same impression of big open levels, same disappointment when you see you basically just follow a corridor all the way through. same nice graphics for the time.

really, what do you think would be problems with having a graphically-down-graded Uncharted 2 on the playstation or playstation 2? tell me, because im struggling to think of any.

AI? nope, theyre just following standard routines in U2. move from cover to cover every certain amount of time, and if you havent moved after x seconds throw a pinpoint accurate grenade to your position to force you to move.

number of enemies? nope, never had more than 5-6 enemies on screen.

scripted events? nope, as theyre scripted they require minimal processing power. the helicopter always shoots the buildings in the same spot at the same time, the building always collapses in the same way at the same time, etc etc.

gameplay? nope, nothing extraordinary about platforming.

realistically, Uncharted 2 is a first generation playstation game but wrapped up with fancy graphics. yes, its entertaining - but its hardly 'omg teh blu-ray and teh cellz are teh bestest!!!!111one' worthy.

but please, now ive elaborated on my thoughts the ball is in your court to do the same.

raztad5582d ago

@^^^^

Gameplay-wise UC2 could run on a PS2 but the same can be said for every game on the xbox so what exactly is your point?

Now if you add incredible visuals + awesome audio it's obvious you need something more than just few Gigs, something the BD provides and DVD lacks.

Now you came here pretending the scale of GoW3 can be done in a portable console. I would say thats utterly false. If you lower the scale to fit a lower spec console the game is not the same anymore.

young juice5582d ago

whoa

so let me get this strait, you think that in 15 years the only the that has evolved on video game consoles are the "graphics".

first of all lets go over one of the many features that the ps3 and 360 have that the older consoles dont. OK dynamic lighting, dynamic lighting has little to do with graphics. in uncharted 2 there are a few puzzles that require dynamic lighting to solve. you also wouldn't have a flashlight unless the developers programed an entirely new light mechanic.

the ps1 ran on 16 Mbits of ram. so if all of the graphics were scaled down to 32 megapixels the original playsatation couldn't handle it.

wait a minute, what your saying doesn't even make sense. why did i waste time typing this up. im done now

jalen2475582d ago

All I have to say is look at FF XIII (360) and FF XIII (PS3).

This should clearly show you why Uncharted 2, GOW III, Killzone 2, etc aren't possible on the 360 without making crippling sacrifices on the 360 version.

Not only would effects, physics and graphical fidelity have to be dumbed down because of the power difference between the consoles but everything would have to be compressed because of blu-ray versus dvd-9

Do you think a sub HD, jaggy, low resolution textures, compressed video, compressed audio, etc game was the vision Square Enix had for FF XIII?

FF XIII is probably the first real PS3 exclusive that utilized the advantages of the PS3 that was attempted on the 360. And it is a failure and embarrassment and basically answers the question: are PS3 exclusives possible on the 360 with a resounding "NO"

HSx95582d ago

looks like ima have to buy a new HDD.

Anon19745582d ago

That's incredible. As if Uncharted 2 wasn't enough proof, this should finally silence all those who claimed the "Blu-Ray drive is too slow!"

God of War III's director said on the Playstation Blog "As far as loading, it’s something we take pride in. We’re a streaming game, we don’t have load times" and it was confirmed awhile back that there was no install.

I can't wait for this game.

Tr10wn5582d ago

Time will prove anything, the fact is that if the game is 10 hours long is obvious that they didn't compress because 1st the game doesn't have more graphics than heavy rain and 2nd is a hack & slash which means a full linear game, and if thats the case well "FUEL" is a 130GB game uncompress.

Yes it’s a decent list of popular games with a heavy hand on FPS and no Warhawk or Starhawk 2 of the best games (not sale wise) on ps3.
I would buy a Starhawk again even if it didn’t have a graphics upgrade hell I would even take a new one with micro transactions 😱🤯

Profchaos94d ago

I've noticed a recent nostalgia for the PS3 and I don't get it for me it's been my least favourite generation to date and I've been gaming since the NES I just feel like the ambition of the developers outweighed the capabilities of the consoles so I remember lots of games running in the lower end of 20fps range and I remember for the first time ever actually disliking the duelshock 3 and it's curved triggers

Sure there were some standouts and great games but that's the only gen I switched entirely to PC gaming

darthv7294d ago

Maybe the recent nostalgia is because pretty much all of its games are trapped on that console. People want to play them on more modern hardware. hell... if XB can do it then so can Sony. there are competent emulators out there that can run on PS4/5 hardware but Sony just wont let them become official... why is that?

If we are talking least favorite generations (personally) then this one is certainly mine. i had more fun playing 8th, 7th and 6th gen stuff than 9th. And it isnt like i dont have access to do so... the heavy hitters just havent shown up anywhere close to those previous gens. The few here and there just doesnt cut it compared to the likes of constant good games that showed up in 6th, 7th and 8th gen. hell.... I'll even throw in 5th gen has been better than this one.

I tend to agree there's lots of amazing games locked to the PS3 like GTA IV or mgs 4 but then again my issue was never with the content the PS3 had but rather it's performance many other people have said the PS3 felt like it couldn't walk and chew bubblegum at the same time using PSN and downloading a game could take a few minutes to just start a download.

I typically don't worry all that much about performance I've never had a problem with games that run at 30 but games like crysis 2, Skyrim are good examples where the performance was so unstable you would never even touch the top of the frame cap and the hitching was worse than say Goldeneye on the n64

I think emulation is more than possible on the ps5 though it's just that Sony has no incentive to rush it's development it will likely be a ps6 feature if it ever happens at all.

But yeah the 9th gen has been so bad from a content perspective thats a given I see constant articles where people are frequently expressing their disappointment around the industry as a whole right now to much live service competition that sinks longstanding studios and consumes Devs time less ambition and games cost so much to make they have to play it safe.

The 5th gen was easily better than the 9th we had some all time greats crash, Spyro, Tony hawk, mgs, Mario,64, Goldeneye, Mario kart 64 the list goes on. The 5th gave us a new dimension and I remember being blown away by how much more open gaming had become the 4th gen with the mega drive and SNES was great and very easy to still revisit some of the greatest games of all time came out like earthbound, secret of mana, sonic , Mario world etc but saving our games was still not a standard function or a given so gaming was still evolving but it was very impressive to see some of the tricks Devs used like dithering to give us new experiences those earlier gens limitations bred innovation.

if XB can do it so can sony? I didn't know xbox had a cell processor in their older consoles, that's the reason why ps3 was so cool, but also the reason why games are hostage there and no, xbox did nothing similar even though their backward compatbility is good, they always had a similar architecture to their consoles.

Sorry Michael... I guess you missed the obvious part where i said there are already emulators out that do this. and that is what XB is doing... emulators for OG and 360 games. Its why the full slate is not BC on XBO/Series.

14 Years Later, God of War 3 Still Has The Best Boss Fights

Kratos' journey in God of War 3 was an angry rampage against the Greek Gods, resulting in some of the best boss battles in gaming.

They went from amazing, huge scale bosses to shirtless Norse people with tattoos...

The only good boss in the new god of war was the mountain dragon.

I like the new GOW games, but I do feel that the brutality of the games were toned down way too much in favor for (what some people may call) heartwarming stories. I think both things could co-exist, but if I had to choose, I'd rather have the brutality back.

Goodguy01247d ago (Edited 247d ago )

Agreed. I... barely even remember any of the bosses in Ragnarok even lol. Story bosses only, optionals excluded. Kinda wish Kratos was still an all brutal angry man that way we do go after pretty much all the gods in each mythology. New gow, you feel bad about them...

ravens52248d ago (Edited 248d ago )

I have to agree. Some of the best boss fights. Felt so good to get a new weapon when you beat em. The Hades fight and Hercules fight were dope. The Poseidon fight was fire especially when you went first person. Damn I want to play it over. Sadly all I have is 3 and the new ones. That's why I want a remaster of the first two.

And we will never.. EVER, get an insane awesome game like this ever again (at least not directly from SSM and Sony)

Hey do you remember those Atreus sections and that Angrboda section where you collect fruit or whatever the f was happening? No. You remember when Kratos ripped off Helios’s head just to use as a flashlight. You remember when he chopped of Hermes’s legs to just so use his boots and you remember the Aphrodite section, when he was gutting Centaurus’s with guts spilling out and when he tied a half naked girl to the gate mechanism pulley thing or whatever it’s called just so she can hold the heavy gate by being mangled into a bloody mess. Good times. 😂

Mark my words, maybe not God of War, maybe not SSM, but a few years from now, the story will be one of vengeance, the protagonist will be there, the gameplay will meet the expectations, and the right team will be put together, it will feel so refreshing again, and we will rejoice. It’s inevitable.

I remember it slightly more fondly because with only 2 characters it was nice to have less yapping and mimir not yelling forced tutorials at me

mkis007247d ago

I like mimir though. He gives more lore for this universe, because God of war has its own lore somewhat separate from actual Norse myth.

jambola246d ago

@mkis007
I'm ok with mimir in cutscenes
I just mean constant yapping and yelling in battle mostly

mkis007247d ago

I do love the hades fight...so fricken brutal how you bash him into the ceiling with his own weapons over and over.

I’ve lived with depression for years, and I can confirm it’s so much more than just feeling sad. It’s the numbness, the exhaustion, the constant mental battle just to get through the day. What helped me, oddly enough, was focusing on small tasks — like improving my living space. I know it sounds random, but researching things like home comfort gave me a sense of control. I even stumbled across this site about ductless mini-split systems: https://mytunbridgewells.co... . It gave me a distraction and a goal — making my space feel warmer, both physically and emotionally. Sometimes healing starts with the smallest, most unexpected steps.
