I honestly don't care who does it, all I know is that it's back and in 2D.

A HiFi5197d ago

Fair enough, but I do. Sonic Team haven't been great for a while, seems like a sound choice. If you're reinventing Sonic, go with the studio who have done good with him in the past decade. That would be Dimps.

I agree Ziriux, at least it's back to it's 2D roots which was better than the 3D games they released to ruin the poor blue guys image.

THAT EXPLAINS ALLOT no wonder sonic 4 is looking the way it does now

Hisiru5197d ago

I played a Sonic game made by this team (Sonic Rush and it's 2D), this game is INCREDIBLY BAD!

Now I am really worried about Sonic 4...

Redempteur5197d ago

well dimps did the sonic rush games and they were really cool ..let's hope they learned enough to make sonic 4 as great as it should be

... Just what do you consider a GOOD Sonic game?

...cause judging by THAT comment, apparently you wouldn't know a good Sonic game if it bit you in the A**!!!

I hope they do a good job on it then

I really want a true Sonic sequel

Ziriux5197d ago

And from the leaked footage released earlier it goes back to that all so famous 2D.

RufustheSage5197d ago

What leaked footage are you talking about? Link?

Ziriux5197d ago

Wow didn't know Dimps done the previous titles, which is great, but are they still what they sue to be.

A HiFi5197d ago

Well they didn't the original Sonic games, but they have done the Sonic Advance series on the GBA, the Sonic Rush games on the DS and they also designed the day-time levels on Sonic Unleashed - they were rather good. Those are about the only good things Sonic in the past ten years (outside of the Sonic RPG), so Dimps is clearly the best choice for developing.

John_Dylan5197d ago (Edited 5197d ago )

A lot of the original developers from Sonic Team left from 1998-2001, and Dimps have proven themselves to be able to work well with current gen of consoles, i think this will turn out to be a good game =D.

Mo0eY5197d ago

The original Sonic Team has been long gone just as the original Rare team. If either of these two great teams got back together, many LOVABLE and really fantastic games would grace the world.

Sonic’s Episodic Adventures – The History of Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was something many wanted to see for a very long time. Continuing the story from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, many had lofty expectations for this title. When it finally released, many were split on the project. From it’s episodic nature, different feeling controls and changes that felt strange to fans of Sonic’s classic adventures, Sonic 4 Episode I and II were divisive games to say the least.

Articuno762679d ago

I feel like if they could keep improving on the Sonic 4 physics, formula and level design they could have gone from the good Sonic 4 Ep II to something genuinely great for Sonic 4 Ep III.

lellkay2679d ago

Strange games. Definitely shouldn't have been "Sonic 4". Seeing as it re-used alot of ideas, level themes enemies and bosses etc, it really should have been called "Sonic Megamix" or something and the levels should have been named after the originals. This would have given SEGA a chance to see what fans reaction was to this style of game, before going in for "proper" Sonic 4. Sonic Mania feels far more "Sonic 4" than the actual Sonic 4 does haha
