I think your "WTF" can be answered by pointing you at what site this is from. Gametrailers is good for one thing, and one thing only. HD trailers and preview videos, as long as they don't offer any type of opinion.

They are like IGN. They want to appease their various fans and advertisers.

I find them to be rather ill-informed. Watched the last Bonus Round and they disregarded the PC platform by stating ME2 is on one platform due to most likely lower sales numbers. WTF?! Also their guest always seem to leave out certain facts and totally dismiss some games all together.

I thought that the list would be looking something like this shown above. Also, Game Trailers are simply biased for not putting Gran Turismo 5 at # 1 for the most anticipated game...but it didn't surprise me because they are the most biased gaming website on the net.

Bioshock 2 should be higher - the first was the best SP FPS i have played. SM Galaxy 2 at number 2 is a joke. GT5 should be on there as should BFBC2. I dont agree with this list.

Gayest list ever but GameTrailers is part of MTV Networks which has partnership with Microsoft so you know they can't admit that the top games this year are all on PS3 (Heavy Rain, God of War 3, The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5, etc.)

I'm still excited to play all those games in the countdown but c'mon. Let's be real here. They're just trying to spread it across all platforms or not admit that the PS3 has a bunch of the highest anticipated games.

I'd say their list is well within subjective allowance. Not a huge fan of SMG2, but oh well..

Metroid is so high because it's one of gaming's best franchises.

The Prime games were awesome, but they transformed Metroid into a first-person experience, whereas Zelda and Mario went the conventional third-person viewpoint route with their first 3D outings.

Now it's Metroid's turn (again). This is a true successor to Super Metroid in a way the original Prime couldn't be because of its viewpoint.

I'm sure I'll play this if I ever grab a wii since everybody is going crazy over it.

alan wake doesnt look to be all that great imo and heavy rain has been giving away so much about the game that we pretty much know whats going to be in it. btw its gametrailers' list, they can do what they want. i thought it was a good list tbh. i wanted god of war to be number 1 but that's just me being a fanboy.

I can easily tell by the comments that NO ONE here played metroid prime 3 or super metroid.

I would like to describe how masterful those games are, but there arent words that can do those games justice. BY FAR the most atmospheric and beautiful games this generation, Fallout and Bioshock be damned.

Anyways, Team Ninja dont impress me. Im hoping Nintendo make sure that the game has the metroid level of quality we've come to expect.

Metroid Prime 3 is far from masterful.

Now Metroid Prime, that is one of the best games of the decade.

To me, Bioshock and Corruption are tops this gen for creating truly awe-inspiring worlds (Elysia might be my favorite virtual playground ever).

And Super Metroid? As far as I'm concerned, it's the best game of the 2D era, and hasn't been topped by any of the 2D games that have come along since.

No new IPs, only sequels. The Last Guardian should've been on that list, easily my most anticipated game of 2010.

Listen im glad that team ninja has taken the helm for the new metroid, but most wanted not likely.You have to remember that this is the next gen era not the past.I think the metroid wont do as well as they are hoping for.I feel that gow3 and other games like that are what people want.Metroid might have the action but its not gritty and not violent enough.Dont get me wrong it looks promising but it will come down to this gens taste which is games like cod ect.There are other games coming out later this year that look way more wanted then metroid and mario galaxy like Brink,The last guardian,resistance3(possibly) The agent,splinter cell,Alan wake ,GT5 and so and so on.get my point.I think that more mature games is what the future holds in the gamming industry.Kids game are becoming more stale as they come.Which is what the wii is.No offense.I have all 3 consoles but the ps3 and xbox get more used then the wii.

The only games I'm anticipating are Battlefield: Bad Company 2 & Just Cause 2.

Those are the only games so far that impress me from what I've seen.. And I've seen alot including Mass Effect 2 which doesn't interest me frankly.
