BioShock 2 vs. BioShock 1 - comparison with new screens

The release of BioShock 2 is getting closer, but how does it compare to its predecessor BioShock 1 visually? See this gallery with brand new screenshots from BioShock 2, comparing them to similar situations from BioShock 1. The examples show the change in the Little Sister's appearances, Big Sister compared to Big Daddy and differences when it comes to the amount of gore.

Bioshock 1 photos are horribly washed out. Besides that they look the same.

I agree they do look washed out. Don't look like that on my PS3, lot clearer on my tv.

Bioshock does not look hardly that washed out on my TV (PS3).

It doesn't look washed out on any of the consoles, I think they did it on purpose to make the sequel look sharper.

Looks the same pretty much, probably some minor differences here and there. I don't even care about Bioshock 2 anymore, it seems like one of those games that should not have a sequel to make sure the original is respected.

It's no suprise that 2k marin is just using upgraded version of bioshock's engine(unreal) like how infinity ward did to mw2..but i don't care about graphic, i just hope that bioshock 2's story is as good as it predecessor.

Bioshock on PS3 looks almost PC quality. It is extremely good looking and runs amazing.

Photos look damaged to make Bioshock 2 look better. From everything I have seen, it'll look a little better, but mostly because of the set pieces, newer environments, etc.

Sequels should look better than the original.

But obviously some people need convincing to buy the sequel to a GOTY candidate.

Oh really? You know this from the "sequel" governing board? Surely you've NEVER experienced a movie or sequel that was worse than the original. haha.

Look worse and being worse are two different things.

As are video games and movies.

You can't apply the same rules - most movie sequels aren't as good as the original, most video games sequels at least come damn close.

I have bioshock 1 on the PC and it's light years better visually than the PS3 demo I played. I really hope the graphics are improved, because I'm probably getting the PS3 version.

The demo had anti aliasing and other graphical issues in the demo and when the game was released for PS3. These were fixed in a patch though.

They look the same.. the couldnt make the game looking better due to the inferior PS3 hardware. With Bioshock1 the inferior PS3 hardware was already shown.

im pretty sure they use the same engine for both.Its going to looks overall the same maybe a aunt better advantage bioshack 2

first one looked all fuzzy on PS3

part 2 looks sharp, aka the PS3 version now has a real resolution

I'm sure it's just the actual shots and the forgiving blur on the screens of the first one but, to me the shots from the first game actually look a little better here.

with blur and color fade because I played the 360 version 3 times and it never looked like that.

Me thinks someone is trying to sell me on the second but my friend, I was sold at the conclusion of the first. ;)

Looks pretty much the same like MW vs MW 2, Gears vs Gears 2, ME vs ME 2. But I don't mind because Bioshock looked pretty good to begin with.
