Naturally, the animation has been compressed for the DSi, which is what leads to the missing frames that hold some of the directional flashes. However, when the action plays out on the top screen, it looks both bright and colorful. The artifacting around the edges of characters and backgrounds is distracting, sure, but it's not a deal-breaker. The sound effects and soundtrack are faithfully reproduced here, too, and sound pretty good coming through the DSi speakers – but even better trough headphones. There is some tininess due to compression, but it's a minor nuisance that will only bother hardcore Dragon's Lair fans.
