The Five Best Movie Games of all Time

There have been a lot of bad movie-based video games. Heck, there's been a ton. The genre is sort of infamous for its usual low quality. But on the other side of the coin, there have been a few great movie games over the years, too.

Inside is a compiled a list of five exceptional movie-based games – from number five to number one. The criteria for a game to make the list was simple: it had to be awesome, and it had to be based off or follow the storyline of a movie.

Lion king was such a great game. I remember the level that had the giraffe's and you had to roar at them monkeys...good memories.

when i close my eyes and reminisce about the golden years of gaming, i remember golden eye looking a lot better. this game looked so good when i first played it, i was amazed.

Have devs just stopped trying to make 007 games? Did they get tired of every game being average (or below) and being compared to GoldenEye (in terms of gameplay)?

for some reason my cousin buys 007 games.. they make em for PS2 but they are mediocre at best and 2 player split screen is BORING

2 Player split screen is classic and fun when you have friends to play with. I don't know where you're getting that "boring" idea.

yeah....i remember being amazed by GoldenEye...it was by far the best looking game at the time....at least for me!i cant even count the hours i passed playing multipayers with my friends!!great memories!

I've played all of these except the Lion King, and they're all quality titles. However, what about Spider-Man 2? Two Towers and Return of the King? Super Star Wars/Empire/Return of the Jedi? Those merit mentioning, as well.

with you on the Starwars series on the Snes Covenant. Those were definately top notch. Goldeneye will always be king though. I think EA bought the rights to the Bond games if I'm not mistaken, so you might as well kiss another good one in the series goodbye.....

Has any one owned an xbox 360 that shuts down when your playing it? Example: I was playing Ghost Recon and then the TV went black and the power button on the 360 starts flashing. The disc won't eject either. To get the disc out, I have to turn it off and then turn it back on (to get it out or to play again). Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know what's wrong? This has happened multiple times...

check your power connections.. make sure the power plug prongs are bent enough to fit snug into the wall or surge protecter. also make sure the prongs on the 360 fit snug into the power supply cord. if this doesnt work, swap power supplys with a friend. if your 360 works fine and his is shuting off....you need a new power supply. call microsoft and see if they will replace the power supply for you. then you just buy one, use it for a week, and take it back to target.

EDIT... your welcome..i have had problems like this before and sometimes its easy to fix. plus renting stuff for free from target is always a nice way of getting back at them. walmart( aka wally world ) is also good to rip off, they deserve it. sorry bout the 360's, mine has been broke for months and i tried it yesterday and i WORKED. i was so freaking amazed i almost had a heart attack. i played 10min of senko no rhonde and turned it off. know anyone that can fix a modded 360 and return it back to original? M$ wont touch it.

Edit: Sorry, don't know anyone that can mod (or un-mod) game systems. That's pretty crazy that it worked after all that time. It reminds me of Thief 3 on xbox. There is one spot where it wouldn't load and then, a couple of months later, it worked. I agree about walmart, I really dislike that company.

IN all honesty, Batman and Goonies for the NES should be on these lists. Those games were and remain amazing in terms of gameplay and style for representing their respective movies.

As for game based movies The whole first person sequence in Doom was good but the rest of the mivie was crap. As for my opinion as for the best game movie is Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

I was one of the few and the brave who owned a 3DO (I got it used for really cheap). This title was revolutionary for the time, having Sylvester Stallone film additional footage just for the 3DO version. Demolition Man incoporated on-rail shooting, driving, and fighting in one game in a stellar presentation. A jem if you ever had the chance to play it, and one of the few reasons to show your 3DO to friends.

damn I love that Aladdin game. it was so much fun...and I still to this day play goldeneye for N64...lol it's next to my 360, xbox, ps2, and ps3

No suprise that Goldeneye is on top and it really deserves it, what a multiplayer. I didn`t get the chance to play the Riddick game, but it really sounds like a great game also. I remember the Lion King game, as a fun game too. I have not play either the Aladdin or Star Wars game so i can`t comment on them.

There has been some good Jurassic Park games over the years too, the one on PS1 where you could be both dinosaur and man (and Sarha Harding, so woman as well) was a blast to play. One on SNES was good too, even though it could be because of my young age hehe.

Mission Impossible was a pretty successful movie-game translation, along with Spiderman 2.
