Default Prime has interviewed Lewis Denby, the man behind the series of Half-Life 2 series of mods.
A review of the first episode of the Half-Life 2 experimental mod, Post Script: "Post Script experiments with game narrative form far more than Dear Esther. While Dear Esther, for one, is hardly a "game," and rather something like an exploratory narrative, Post Script fluidly incorporates light puzzle and game elements into its experience."
BeefJack writes: "What with the splatter of post-apocalyptic settings featured in video games, you'd be mistaken for getting the impression that developers are very cynical people. 'Post Script' is an experimental mod for Half-Life 2 having players explore a deserted town following the end of the world to find out how D-Day occurred."
Gaming Daily writes: "a haunting and almost surreal experience as you explore a town with a constant text driven narrative overlaying the screen. There are a couple of environmental puzzles along the way, but for the most part it's purely an experience of exploration and discovery. And ultimately it's rather good; the narrative is fascinating and wonderfully written, the few puzzles that are present are a joy, and the feel of the whole thing is brilliantly atmospheric if not quite able to shake off that 'mod' feel of not-quite-polished-enough."
