KillzoneUnit.com has managed to set up a Q&A session with Sebastian "motherH" Downie of Guerrilla Games. They talk about the company and of Killzone. Pull up a chair and enjoy.
From the interview:
E3 is very near and the gaming world is anticipating news of Killzone PS3. What's the vibe like at GG as you all prepare? Stressed, excited?
Bit of everything. Excitement with an underlying: "OH MY GOD WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!" I am sure there are a hundred developers around the globe feeling the same way right now though. Everyone wants their game to play look and sound perfectly when the public first get to see it. If you are working on an AAA Next Gen beast of a game or something for mobile phones you want to make a good impression on people. And if you have the baggage that we have we have to give it that extra little bit. Hopefully it will all go brilliantly and we'll shut up even some of the most ardent critics.
Our readers would never forgive us if we didn't ask, but is there anything at all that you can tell us about the next Killzone title? (even if it's a 'no comment', haha)
Erm… hmmm… let me see. Well it has Online. I can't say anything about it though. There will be a Public Beta, but not till later in the year. It will be a FPS, but I guess you figured that out by now… Phew. There really is absolutely nothing I can actually talk about. Oh well. See you at E3!
The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Wow, you're way late to the game. I quickly glimpsed at the title and thought a new killzone game. Sigh
This game was dope. Perhaps I might give it another go.
I just wish KZ Mercenary multiplayer wasn't shut down. feelsbadman
The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
It sound like Killzone PS3 will be out this holiday season! Hopefully i will get invited to the beta.
There will be a Public Beta, but not till later in the year.
Pretty much no matter what they do they won't be able to make a believer out of me, Killzone was not my kind of FPS, and its MP was really poor.
I think blizzard said it best.
"See the problem is all these companies are just trying to make a good single player with these really deep and complex systems, however that doesn't work real well in MP, thats why at its core Starcraft as always been a simple game."
Mark my words the prettiest and most complex game almost never wins
Everyone expect Violater brings up good points.
However FPS games are built upon having a multiplayer that is long lasting. Also i wasn't saying that singleplayer wasn't important i just don't think you need to have like complete destructable enviroments and photo realism to have a good game, If you have a really good story and can make it fun to play then thats whats important.
I am just sick of people saying, well why can't i blow up that tower there to kill him this isn't fun because i can't do this or that.
Its why I am not that excited by Fracture or Haze, Fracture sure you can make little mountians and walls using your gun, but really how much fun is that going to be?
that in this day and age, things can be kept under such a tight lid. no word, no leaked images, no nothing. impressive, but it makes me sad. ;(
