Jason Lafave awarded the game a Gold trophy and says, "It plays like all mahjongg games do; you match the tiles in pairs. While the core of this centuries-old game doesn't leave much room to experiment (nor does it need it), developers have some room to play with modes and presentation. In neither of these areas, did this game disappoint."
Triverse writes, "G5 are proficient at the casual game market and in showing support for the most possible number of gamers. Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2 being released on Windows Store shows that G5 is serious about keeping fans happy and engaged in their games."
