High Voltage Announcement Soon

BeefJack writes: "High Voltage the guys behind The Grinder and Gladiator A.D have been oddly quiet since E3, but it seems that's all about to change as one employee has teased at a possible announcement happening soon.

What this means is anyone's guess, a new game? Something to do with an existing one like The Grinder? Who knows, either way it's got quiet a few people interested."

These guys seem to be quite talented. I hope they don't announce a Wii exclusive game... or are they owned by Nintendo?

mrwiggles3680d ago

Your Right.

The world doesn't need more Wii Waggle.

They aren't owned by nintendo, they are small dev though, they couldn't possibly make a big time game for PS3/360, maybe a PSN/XBLA title though.

IMO... They need to give up making exclusive games for the Wii. Go multiplat on the HD consoles so they can have a fanbase that would actually appreciate and buy their games.

they've made a boatload of licensed shovel ware and ports over the years.

no way man they've been making garbage for years white men can't jump,go diego go,leisure suit larry magna cum laude, charlie and the chocolate factory.
but at least they redeemed themselves with the conduit

Know what's funny? How all the HD fanboys are begging for HVS to go multiplat. Know why it's funny? Because High Voltage is a bad developer and it just goes to show that HD fanboys will put up with any crappy game as long as it's pretty and OMG MATURE!!!1

What surprises me is how High Voltage were so close to making a good game with The Conduit, but were yet so far.

Nambassa3680d ago (Edited 3680d ago )

Ah, well i didn't know about the earlier stuff. I've only played the Conduit and i thought it was rather enjoyable. Hopefully they expand their team with great developers and make a multiplat title.

These guys are really keen to see if there is a hardcore audience on the wii, or if not to try to grow such audience.

SpoonyRedMage3680d ago

It's got more to do with the fact that they can actually afford Wii development, they're only a small company.

They really did try with The Conduit though, perfecting some parts(controls, graphics technology) and failing at others(art style, writing).

I'm looking forward to The Grinder though.

making announcements of announcements.

Hurrah!

EvilTwin3680d ago

Conduit 2, I'd guess.

[spoilers]

The ending of the first game pretty much guarantees a sequel, IMO. And TCon was their first time trying to establish their own IP, so they probably want to fix the problems that the first game had. MWR's online crushes HVS's effort, so I could see them trying to respond.

Conduit on next gen system?
