Rainy Woods resurfaces as a 360 exclusive... or not?

The game will be published abroad by Ignition Entertainment, though it has now been secured as a XBox 360 exclusive title, according to the press release.

Or is it? The new teaser trailer accompanying the game's reintroduction gives PS3 fans some hope that the game will be available on their platform of choice. Towards the end of the trailer, a shooting segment clearly shows the game is being played on the PS3.

lol that is for sure!

Though judging from the teaser trailer just released, Deadly Premonition looks pretty bad.

Hopefully it is not.

Chris3995289d ago

Make of that what you will.

SullyDrake5289d ago

Are ones that can't be technically performed on other systems.

I'm sure this is either coming out day one on both, or is a TIMED 360 exclusive.

gaffyh5289d ago

Doesn't look great imo, looks like a PS2 game

StanLee5288d ago

Neither this nor Deadly Premonition looks at all interesting. Seems to me like small developers just don't have the resources to make a multiplatform game more than anything else.

Probably didn't pass Sony's Quality Control >_>

Seriously though, I remember being really excited about this game in 2007. It hasn't aged well, but I'd still play it. Actually surprised Sony didn't try to grab it to counter Alan Wake.

SullyDrake5289d ago (Edited 5289d ago )

That HAZE and LAIR passed Sony's Quality Control?

And counter Alan Wake? Hell son, God Of War III counters the entire 360 library, let alone one game!

Chubear5288d ago

Haze and Lair are great games. Don't be a sheep.

Feral Gamer5289d ago (Edited 5289d ago )

That screenshoot looks a lot like Res. Evil 4

bigrudowsky5289d ago

thats exactly what i thought when i saw the image.. I havent heard anything about this game though ill go google it lol

PS3 vaporware of past Tokyo Game Shows

With Tokyo Game Show merely days away, everyone is anticipating the announcement of new games. Rumors have been flying from all corners of the internet, with whisperings that fan favorite franchises like Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia, Kingdom Hearts and more may make an appearance at TGS 2009. And while PS3Center is definitely looking forward to whatever new reveals take place at the show later this week, PS3Center would also love to hear more on titles that have been announced at previous Tokyo Game Shows but have been deathly silent ever since.

Rainy Woods definitely looks a little dated now, but I would be downright shocked if we didn't hear at least a little bit about it at TGS. MMV has been talking about switching their efforts over to the PS360 ever since their Wii games have been flopping left and right, so it would make sense for Rainy Woods to make it's grand reappearance here.

Dragun6195338d ago (Edited 5338d ago )

Theres actually quite alot more vaporware titles out there.

Fifth Phantom Saga http://web.archive.org/web/...
Data-fly http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Ni-oh http://www.ps3center.net/ne...
Rainy Woods
Steambot Chronicles 2
Coded Arms Assault
Redwood Falls

I hope developers put most of these games back in development than putting them on hold especially now that the PS3 is @ $299. Would like to Redwood Falls (Zombie Game) back into development.

Edit: @colossi16
Really?, Well thats good to hear, from the looks of it, it could be a good action game.

FrankFoxJaegar5338d ago

Theres a reason the majority of those games are vaporware... they don't look impressive at all...

Raoh5338d ago

wasn't there a licensing issue with rainy woods and twin peaks?

colossi165338d ago

The wardevil site says there would be a reveal in october.

Snoogins5338d ago

I'm not going to hold my breath for Wardevil. All of the controversy surrounding its existence leads me to believe it was nothing more than vaporware. I know people are looking forward to it, but it'd be best to just forget about it until something concrete and public surfaces.

Raoh5338d ago

Ohhhh... colossi16 .. sooo naive..

don't you know Wardevil was a game our parents used to tell us about at night to make us go to sleep with smiles on our faces..

after time we grew up and realized that it was but a myth, a childrens story.. like santa clause, the easter bunny or a nigerian check that would actually clear..

wardevil does not exist.. allow this old man's childhood memories to drift away in peace and never mention it again..

stonecold35338d ago

i was looking forward to that game as well nothing been mentioned since e3 2005 now 4 years later nothing still has been mentioned about it

Lost And Found: Games Gone MIA-Located at E3?

OXCGN:

"Prior to E3'09 I listed 22 games gone Missing In Action (MIA) that I hoped to see at E3. Well in this update you will see which ones re-appeared, which ones remain lost, and which ones are stuck in production waiting for a publisher to help out."

Superfragilistic5437d ago

If only...

Rare are working on Natal along with two other projects. Hopefully Molyneux will bring the shy guys at Rare out into the sunlight to spill the beans.

I'd definitely be interested in a new Viva Pinata or Perfect Dark with Natal controls.

Godem5437d ago

I just want a new Conker from Rare!

darkmurder5437d ago

I was downloading SSF2 Turbo HD and when I looked at my hard drive as it was downloading it came up as Perfect Dark, very odd lol.

Immortal Kaim5437d ago

God, I would love a new Conker...Come on RARE, what are you hiding?

allegionary5437d ago

I'd love a PD0 2! Even though it was only first gen, the multi was fantastic!

Freak of Nature5436d ago (Edited 5436d ago )

Rares KI3 with natal would probably be very popular....

My choice would be an all new pushing the limits proper Banjo threeie and or a new full blown new gen Conker.Done with all the attention Rare and Microsoft can give them...Go all out, bring some new mechanic, raise the bar.....If not Banjo or Conker, give me Kameo 2 and or a new gen cart racer.....A new act/adv/platformer IP would be OK in my book too.....I just hope they can return to their former glory....They need to push for it,and not settle for just good enough...

Edge Of Twilight...I saw it at E3,looked at some nice target renders, saw some pre-viz art from sections in the game, and came away pretty impressed,a sleeper hit in the making? I do doubt it's Fall 09' release however, but hope I am wrong, and it does come, has potential....

Halo Chronicles... I have two former art/work partners that worked on it as late as August 08'.they did concept art,design.....My best quess is it will be all about natal and 3D....blink,blink....

Forrest Gump5437d ago

Oh,it's actually NOT found :(

gaminoz5437d ago

Not yet. Rare are hard at work at SOMETHING...question is what? Perfect Dark Zero 2 for Natal? That would be cool...

XboxOZ3605437d ago

Well I'd certainly like to play for Ms Dark, that's for sure.

I thought we would have heard about some of the ones still MIA though, plus there were a few quite horses that slipped through no one was even expecting . ..

Immortal Kaim5437d ago

Wow epic list of games...So many still MIA though.

XboxOZ3605437d ago

While they are MIA, there's still work being done on them, it's just that the dev are a bit quite on them, while some have simply been moved aside for faster moving items that bring in the $$'s so the other newer IP's can be worked on.

We're just going through our huge Xbox 360 games listing atm, removing released and canceled games, and adding a swag of new ones that are poppping up around the globe.

gaminoz5437d ago

I'd love to know the percentage of games that make it to market that were listed for 360...

Is it the economic downturn or is it the rise in gaming standards with the big publishers putting out mega games that dwarf interest in the little guys? Is it just too hard if you're not Ubi, EA, Activision etc.??

allegionary5437d ago

I really doubt too many of those will be finished; they may be made for PC or show up in a year or two. I wonder what the devs do when they have a game on hold?

Make another that will be put on hold or make a Wii ior DS game...

DoctorQ5437d ago

Dead Island....man, you developers think your sooooo funny, well, you know what, you kinda are as i thoughht that Alan Wake was gonna be pushed back a fair bit, still, great list

XboxOZ3605436d ago

The number of games 'coming' from PC platform increases every month mate, not decreases. Many have shown up on our listing over the years, and a good number of those have made it into reality as developers realize the huge untapped market that is available on consoles, if they can capture it.

Doesn't make either platform better or worse, or one game better than the other, it simply means we as gamers get more games, better and bigger choices, and the industry grows.

gaminoz5437d ago

What happened to all the MMORPGs that were supposed to come out on 360? They just did a Casper....

allegionary5437d ago

I doubt well see an online MMORPG on consoles.

XboxOZ3605437d ago

They certainly did, where was APB, and Huxley??? I think I heard some rumblings about them somewhere, but unsure. Those two would certainly be interesting games on the 360, or any console for that matter.

E3 Search: 10 More Games Missing In Action

OXCGN:

"These are games that must make an appearance at this year's E3, or they will be presumed dead or dying. This time there are some sequels among the 10, and as always if you've seen new information about them, or have other missing games to add to the list, let us know in the comment section below."

List includes Doom 4, Perfect Dark 2, Halo Chronicles, Star Wars Battlefront III, Age of Conan etc.

gaminoz5456d ago

I'm more interested in Wolfenstein than Doom. Could Doom 4 be better than Dead Space?

Some of those less known titles are interesting too...but look like they need polish (and maybe publisher help?).

Man Age of Conan for 360 has been taking forever...surely it must show up at E3?

Superfragilistic5456d ago

That Darkest Days civil war one looks cool and my fingers are crossed for Halo Chronicles and Doom 4.

I know for a fact there's news about Section 8 at E3...

But I'd love news about AoC.

allegionary5456d ago (Edited 5456d ago )

Me too...though some are pretty big titles.

1. I don't think MMOs will work on a console, so that may be why Age of Conan is missing

2. Perfect Dark Zero 2 would rule

3. Dead Space would probably kill any Doom 4

4. WTF happened to Halo Chronicles?

5. Maybe if MS had published some of those lesser known titles they'd have some more exclusives (they are PC and 360 only mostly anyway...)

6. Where is Forza 3...that should be on the list...though Gran Turismo is just as missing and needs to show at E3

gaminoz5456d ago

@ Super

Yeah that Darkest Of Days looks promising...I had a look at the vid in the link.

@ Allegionary

Forza is going to show at E3...I'm sure MS will make it a priority, along with Halo ODST.

Not sure what happened with Halo Chronicles...

Uncle Rico5456d ago

I dunno about Doom 4. They hyped Doom 3 so much and then I was bitterly disappointed when it finally came out after those years of development, I doubt I would be interested in Doom 4.

Godem5456d ago

E3 will FAIL this year if Doom 4 is not announced/previewed/shown officially.

REALgamer5456d ago

But I'm more interested in Rage. Hopefully it'll be playable on the floor so we can get some news on how it works instead of just (insanely) pretty screenshots.

Godem5456d ago

I dont think Rage could ever be as popular or hyped as Doom 4 would be.

XboxOZ3605456d ago

while going through these games I could see plenty of potential for the console, irrespective of platform. There's several others that have also gone MIA unfortunately. WHich is quite common with games these days.

SOme simply go into hybernation and pop back on the radar a few years later or simply fade away into the background.

BUt several of them could well be up for a mention at E3 this year, as many of the bookings we have with the various publishers could shed some light on them, we'll be sure to ask, that's for certain.
