Tomodachi Collection Took Over Three Years To Make

Siliconera: If you follow Japanese sales charts at all you’ve seen Tomodachi Collection appear week after week. It’s Nintendo’s long tail game of 2009. Since June 18, Tomodachi Collection sold over 1,000,000 copies in Japan alone.

It took Nintendo over three years to develop Tomodachi Collection. "We are developing one product after another, and we are aiming to make each one of them an unexpected hit. Otherwise, we would not have spent more than 3 years developing Tomodachi Collection," said Satoru Iwata during an investors Q&A session.
