IGN: Rygar Arcade Review
As a final word of warning, you should know that this Rygar game is not the same as the Rygar from the NES — the adventure you might remember from Nintendo’s 8-bit days was a completely different design that was inspired by this arcade original and used its same hero and setting, but its gameplay was totally unique. It’s a bit of a shame, too, because NES Rygar is a better game than Arcade Rygar — still, it’s nice to have Rygar at all. Maybe Tecmo will follow-up this VCA release of the 1986 series starter with a re-issue of that 1987 classic, under the good old non-Arcade Virtual Console banner.
