Green Pixels: Halo 3: ODST Review
The addition of the second disc seems like a confirmation of perceptions that Halo 3: ODST alone can’t quite justify the full $60 investment. Halo gurus will undoubtedly get enough out of the campaign and Firefight, but even with quality work within, it’s hard to shake that sense that ODST is simply a well-built stopgap release before Halo: Reach drops next year. And though newcomers need not play a previous iteration to enjoy the fervent action in display in ODST, it’s hard not to recommend Halo 3 or an earlier entry to really get a sense of what a traditional, fully-featured Halo experience should be like.
