PS3 to gain on Xbox 360 from Japan sales
Steady sales of Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 Slim hardware in Japan will likely help the electronics firm close the gap on Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 sales.
The PS3 Slim debuted to sales of more than 150,000 units upon debut in Japan the first week of Sept.
Subsequent weeks have held sales of about 40,000 to 50,000 units per week compared to the Xbox 360 at around 6,000 per week.
