John Robertson takes the latest Command and Conquer stand alone title (which probably shouldn't have been stand alone) for a spin.
"Essentially Commander's Challenges is a stand alone expansion pack that doesn't require a copy of the disc to run. The plot that guides you through the various missions can only be described as complete drivel. You play as a commander within 'FutureTech', a seemingly all-powerful weapons developer that has somehow got its hands on the technology used by Red Alert 3's factions, the Allies, the Soviets and the Rising Sun."
Bibber has released a new update for its Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 mod Upheaval, now available for download.
More than 250 downloadable games were released for consoles in 2009. Some became deserved hits, racking up huge sales figures and becoming pervasive in gaming circles, but with so many titles, it's inevitable that a few gems would fall through the cracks.
Ryan Langley, editor of console download-focused Gamasutra sister site GamerBytes, has rounded up five Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network games that should have found their audience, but for whatever reason -- be it confused release schedules, price point bungling, or lack of gamer awareness -- have languished in relative obscurity.
You can and should tackle the missions in cooperative mode though as the coop design philosophy stays in the spotlight in Commander's Challenge just like it did in Red Alert 3. For a scant $10 Commander's Challenge is a great value, but be prepared for the game to beat you up and take your lunch money for a while.
Very disappointed in that score, was hoping for much more from this game :(
As long as there is cheesy acting, I'm happy :)
