A review from Wii UK of the latest installment of the Medal of Honor franchise.
"I've always had an issue with Wii shooters. The aiming and control mechanics have never (or rather, in the six months of the console's lifetime) been very good, which is surprising considering how suitable the Wii Remote/Nunchuk combo appears to be for the genre..."
Gamervision's Jonathan Cooper writes, "Later this year, EA's rebooted Medal of Honor will compete against Activision's Call of Duty, bringing the two head-to-head for the first time in a few years. In the PS2 era, the two were nearly on an even level, and it wasn't until the current generation that Medal of Honor fell to Call of Duty, mostly thanks to Infinity Ward's dominance with Call of Duty 2 and the final nail in the coffin, Modern Warfare. For some time, it seemed as though it was going to be an easy win for Activision, and there was little reason to believe that the reboot would be able to top the $1 billion earner in CoD. However, recent happenings make this seem like more and more of a possibility, and there's historical evidence that EA may be ready to overtake Call of Duty in 2010, or at least take back some ground."
Call of what now? they must meant can Medal of honor dethrone Battlefield Bad company.
If it doesn't have bugs then yes.
If it is balanced then yes.
If the story makes sense and offers closure then yes.
Meh first it was Halo. Then Battlefield:BC2, and now MOH. To be completely honest with you i think COD killed it self. Heck i didn't even buy the game from my experience with it's mediocre single player and buggiest online component yet
EA's reboot of Medal of Honor arrives later this year. Does it have a hope of beating Activision's Call of Duty at it's own game? The imitator vs. the imitated… or is that the imitated vs. the imitator? Only one series walks out of here supreme!
well I think MoH has two things going for it.
One is that CoD is currently in a glitch mess from what I've heard.
Secondly MoH is based off real events and in that respect is based on the classic ww2 shooters, based off real battles/events.
The second is why I'm so excited, a war game that is based in reality that isn't ww2 but instead modern war I find very appealing.
I would love to see Medal of Honor make a nice comeback after all these years. I haven't played a MoH game since Underground on original PlayStation.
EA was the market leader in third party publishers for many many years, because they had no real competition they only released average games as people would buy them regardless. Activision then challenged EA, with Call of Duty to answer to Medal of Honour, EA released Rock band to counter Guitar Hero. Both company's are trying to one up each other, creating new franchises and vastly improving old ones...
I have to hand it to EA they have really been increasing quality recently, especially with games like dead space and mirrors edge, and I know there only published by EA but still its a vast improvement on what they used to offer.
We'll see EA fanboys vs Activision fanboys....
Let's hope that doesn't happen...
