PA Knutsson writes "With its 800 cars and 35 tracks impresses Gran Turismo in terms of substance, but too far to buy cars and test them on the tracks is missing. There is no reason to run the slow Skrutt cars, something illogical enough is a big minus in my book.
If you can live with the lack of a crowded contrast, there is not much to complain about. For those who want an easy and fast playing racing games Gran Turismo PSP is perfect. Those who want a Gran Turismo game, unfortunately be disappointed."
If you were hoping to attend the final preliminary live event in the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series and hadn't yet picked up some tickets, your time has run out.
A special free Gran Turismo demo is set for launch later this year, as Sony gears up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation console.
The demo, going by the name of "My First Gran Turismo", will appear towards the end of the year in an unspecified "holiday" window and be free for all.
Featuring four International Live Events and six rounds of online qualifiers.
Again, the hell is Level7
Confirmed Flop.
and Lets see the game that Polyphony Digital made:
In Polyphony Digitals own words:
""While it's not possible to fully recreate the very same feeling you get from playing GT in Full HD, a new facet of gaming is opens its possibilities. If you have 15 minutes, if you're in your car, on the bus or on a train, you can turn it on, and play. So instead of recreating the same feeling you get when playing at home, we created a portable Gran Turismo that will offer the same satisfaction you get when playing at home." - Kazunori Yamauchi
"In single player
you have classic tracks, time-attack, drift mode and Mission Challenge. This mode has the familiar things you'd expect in a GT game, including license tests. There are of course elements designed specifically for the PSP, starting with adhoc mode, which will allow 4 players to race each other. In adhoc mode, you can also trade the cars in your garage or you can share them with others. These are unique features found only in GT PSP." - Kazunori Yamauchi"
So why on earth do you review a game for "Those who want a Gran Turismo game"? When its a mobil GT experience. Why not review it for what the game was intended to do, from the start. Be a 15 minute pick up and play party game?
So lets get the order of operations straight:
1. Polyphony says they are making a party/train riding/Gran turismo game without a career mode.
2. Gran Turismo Mobil ships without a career mode.
3. Reviewers who all previewed the game, had nothing but good things to say about it, and knew there was no career mode/updgrades.
4. Reviewers review the game low for having no career mode/upgrades. And at the same time say its great for anyone who want an easy portable psp game, says the physics are great, as are the visuals.
7/10
Really?
After GT psp and GT prologue review scores its hard to say if Gran Turismo is still a AAA franchise. I have a feeling GT5 wont be getting high reviews (9 or better ) either.
edit: Wow, GT4 wasn't AAA either on metacritic. So their last 3 games have failed to live up to their first 3 games and each one keeps dropping more and more
a gran turismo game.
I hope there will soon be a price cut for that "half gt game". :)
