Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
Half-Life 2 art director and Dishonored designer Viktor Antonov has died aged just 52.
One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.
Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor
Yep I remember seeing some of the earliest concept art for Dishonored and hearing that the art director of Half-Life 2 was working on it and being excited.
And you are absolutely right, each of those games (HL2 and Dishonored) has a distinct art style that stands the test of time.
So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3
After celebrating the 20th anniversary, Half-Life 2 reached top 5 on the Steam Deck Top Played list. It's also on a 90% sale.
Don't crucify me or something but I think she's fugly and doesn't look like from the same game. Original Alyx looks way better despite lower res textures and probably lower poly count.
I would rather have original Alyx with better textures. I thought she looked exotic.
This is starting to get really really stupid. I mean WHO THE EFF CARES ABOUT SOME LAME MODELED ALYX. I always hated these kind of mods because modders who makes these always change some character at every new release. Whats the point? So if I want to see Adriana Lima as Alyx should I download earlier versions? Or if I want to see the one that looks like a dead horse (like this) should I download that one? What is the goddamn point. Nothing. They're just trying to be look like creative. But no. They're definitely not. No new worthwhile additions only models change and they starting to get more ugly. What's next? Katie Price look-a-like Alyx?
