Resume Play: Why Online Gaming Has Ruined Fighting Games
Resume Play – Stephen Rosenberg writes "That’s right. I said it. In my opinion (not necessarily the opinion of this site), on-line multi-player has ruined the genuine fun factor in fighting games. I have played the fighters from the start. I’ve been through the Mortal Kombats, the Killer Instincts, to the Tekkens, to Soul Calibers, the WWF, WCW, WWE, and every other WW you can think of. I’ve had my frustrations with these games in their own, but after a (not-so) friendly bout of Xbox Live’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 yesterday, I decided that the specialness and countless hours of muli-player amazingness cannot be found when it is done through a server against someone far away. Before you attack me and my Internet connection, I have played on many different consoles at many different locations. Here are my reasons for acting like and old man when it comes to kicking some-one’s ass in a fighting game."
