I'm very interested in this game, I know that the developers are giving the Xbox360 version a lower priority right now, but I want to play it on Xbox360, as I don't have a powerful PC to run this game :)

mingeater5761d ago

playing on my big HD telly beats pc for me! and i want this game.... although i get the feeling this will never come to console. which is a shame imo.

anyway, that was looking pretty good for the unreal engine. i thought the car looked a little weightless on the corners..some physics work need me thinks.

still, if they pull this off and it comes to consoles, this could well turn out to be something incredibly special.

KingKionic 5761d ago

Apb customization looks great .

I wonder how big a it it will be .

Fishy Fingers5761d ago

"game will be released on PC in March, 2009"

Oops.

Hoolock5761d ago

same boat as post 1, looks cool but i know Microsoft arent too good with MMO and the Xbox

GameOn5761d ago

They already have FFXI and PSU if you can call that MMO.

JasonPC360PS3Wii5761d ago

Champions Online is also comming to PC and 360, check this sweet gaming out :) http://www.gametrailers.com...

NegativeCreepWA5760d ago

Hoolocks right though somethings going on with mmos and MS at the moment. The devs for APB, Champions and FFXIV have all said MS is holding up the 360 versions of the games. Maybe their trying to lower monthly fees for Gold users. Either way something is going on that that were not hearing the full story of.

Kragerbone5761d ago

I think its time to put the Unreal engine to bed and get another more up to date engine to handle the physics and such for an open-ended, world encompassing game such as APB. This is, after all, a new MMO. The Unreal engine, even souped up a bit by the APB team, looks a lot tired to me. Like it's really showing its age. When was the last Unreal out... 5-6 years ago? And developers are still using it's engine? So sad.

JasonPC360PS3Wii5761d ago

He asked you to name one MMO that looks better than this... waiting. Thats because you cant, and if you think UE3 is showing its age then go look at some screen shots of Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2.

pippoppow5761d ago

I think in the hands of the most talented Devs with the right focus, the Unreal engine can still do a good job in the visuals department. With that said I think when an engine reaches a certain age the confines of what the engine is capable of on current hardware specs may be limiting. APB looks good but not amazing which is to be expected compared to a single player game. I'm sure if Devs who use the unreal engine who are capable of making their own engine probably would have wound up with at least a slightly better version of the game. It's like L4D. It's using an old modified engine which would have been much better off with a new engine, especially since they are charging $60. Some games use a new engine to drive their games using the full capabilities of whatever platform they are on while others use and old engine that doesn't and still charges the same money. Of course there are other factors which go into the production of a product but people just want the best product they can get for their hard earned money. Just imagine a Halo, Gears and ME game with new proprietary engines. The games would most likely be at least a little better for it.

Pandamobile5761d ago (Edited 5761d ago )

Why the hell would they make another Unreal Engine in the middle of a console generation?

and Jason, Bioshock 2 runs on a modified Unreal Engine 2.

bjornbear5761d ago

Well...M.A.G =/ tbh...js my opinion tho, but it is also in final stages so no fair comparison, but you got the answer you were looking for =)

dcbronco5761d ago (Edited 5761d ago )

Obviously someone didn't read and just looked at the pretty pictures. It is a early build and will use the latest UE3. The latest version of the engine includes a lot of the new things that will appear in UE4.

@Pandamobile

Like the UE2, 3 has received constant updates. Go back and watch some of the video walk-throughs of GOW 2. That had an updated version and the engine will continue to be upgraded until they launch UE4.

GameOn5761d ago (Edited 5761d ago )

I don't think M.A.G is a real MMO. I don't really know much about the game but if, at the end of a match the server resets it's not a true MMO. It needs a persistent online world to be a true MMO.

Major_Tom5760d ago (Edited 5760d ago )

Blade&Soul(Also Unreal), Aion, Age of Conan besides this is an MMOG.

I could see Epic rolling out UE4 just for PC's tbh. Dx11 hopefully has more push than shove.

The Five Most Disappointing Video Games Of All Time

For every game that truly lives up to its potential, there are a couple that absolutely miss their mark. Be it a simple case of over hyping an unfinished product, to game systems that downright are broken, or even just a game being inexcusably horrible, some games just leave a terrible taste in people’s mouths.

I still loved Too Human for all of it's flaws.

If only Denis Dyack knew how to keep his mouth shut, the game's reception might have been very different.

Gamer6664254d ago

Agreed, Too Human was flawed, but the story was strong and the RPG elements were strong.

The control scheme was the only real lackluster part of the game... Unfortunately, you are reminded at how flawed the control scheme was in every single level and every single battle in the game...

UnHoly_One4254d ago

I have to disagree about the controls. They were different, but it worked, and made for a unique experience.

I never had a problem with the controls at all.

pixelsword4254d ago (Edited 4254d ago )

Why is it that people always want to put Lair down in a list like that, but when you see comments about it, most people who played the game enjoyed the game? The game wasn't broken, the game wasn't incomplete, the controls just had a steep learning curve, and most of that was basically keeping your controller straight after turning, and 180 turns, both were fixed after the patch.

People hated on this game merely because it was 1080p and (mostly) 60fps, and it came out early in the PS3's life-cycle; certain fanboys masquerading as journalists knew if this game bombed, people wouldn't invest in other games that were that ambitious and that's exactly what happened because after that games were cancelled (8-days) or delayed to the PS4 (last guardian).

Kleptic4254d ago (Edited 4254d ago )

^seriously dude?

I was as excited for Lair as anyone...and omg did it suck...

a story that...i'm not even going into it...the dialogue? ('why don't you try spitting some fireballs at them??' over and over and over)...

sorry man...that game was complete trash...there were plenty of early PS3 games that i feel got very unfair treatment within the media...but a conspiracy against Lair is something i could never agree with...it was just a shitty game...plain and simple...to each their own, though...

hell, i thought Haze was better than Lair...and haze was damn near unplayable...

JasonKCK4253d ago

Too Human is pretty good for an unfinished game. It also has one hell of a dedicated fanbase.

GuyThatPlaysGames4254d ago

Definitely Too Human. Also, I would add Haze and Duke Nukem.

joe904254d ago (Edited 4254d ago )

Too Human was OK i don't get everyones hate of it. I enjoyed the leveling of the armour and weapons.

APB is still played by the thousands and makes a very steady income from it.

Why no Damnation,Haze,Duke Nukem Forever or Rogue Warrior? They're the worst/over-hyped games i have ever played.

I know this is an opinion piece so it is what it is.

TheEnigma3134254d ago

I think rogue warrior needs to be on here. And why Isn't E.T. on here since we're talking about all time terrible games. That game single handily crashed the video game world.

isarai4254d ago

maybe because it's not "all time terrible games" it's "Most Disappointing Video Games Of All Time" even in commercials and the promise of ET was trash, no one was expecting greatness from that game. but yes Rogue Warrior was horrid compared to what it was meant to be, wasn't even close to it's target

Ghostdogg4253d ago

Rouge warrior was pure garbage and lol@ E.T.

iamnsuperman4254d ago (Edited 4254d ago )

For me Haze. I was interested to play it. That was until I played the demo. Picked it up in a bargain bin later on after its launch and I am glad I did........pick it out of a bargain bin and not pay full price

SuperBlur4254d ago

APB , that game went from having a 100mill dollar budget to bankruptcy so fast , it should be a record on its own

raistra4254d ago

Such a great studio lost to that game :(

KonsoruMasuta4254d ago

No Dude Nukem: Forever? That games had so much hype surrounding it and it turned out to be a steaming pile.

What APB got right, and why it initially failed

PC Gamer - The action-MMO first known as APB lives on as APB Reloaded. But if your memory serves, you’ll recall that the urban, massively-multiplayer shooter had a quick death: APB shut down just months after launching at the end of June 2010, coinciding with the dissolution of developer Realtime Worlds.
