Batman: Arkham Asylum Gets Insanely Viral In Its Marketing Campaign

PlayStation LifeStyle writes:

"When I arrived at work on Monday (at Fry's Electronics), I instantly noticed some interesting ID cards scattered about my PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 aisles. Interestingly enough no vendors came into the store all day which is a sign of viral marketing done by someone posing as a customer. These Arkham Asylum security access cards were scattered about with a mug shot of Frank Boles."

I wish the movie industry was this dedicated at viral campaigns.

Arthur_5721d ago

but it would depend on the movie.
:)
very cool though, indeed.

kapedkrusader5721d ago

...use Frank Boles' security number shown on the card. Click on forgot password, the answer to the security question is circle. Update your personal info and Bam!, your an Arkham Asylum guard with access to the security system, cameras, etc.

umair_s515721d ago

Hey I just did that too, so does the password get reset every time a new person logs in?

"I did some research to find out more about these cards, but alas, there is very little info on them other than that they originated out of Comic-Con ‘09. Also these cards popped up at various Best Buy locations, which is a sign that this was a national campaign."

Then I clicked the link that was hidden in "various Best Buy locations" and I get taken to a Gamespot message board that has 1 post in it.

UGH what horribly gimped visuals! Would of looked 20x better if it had been exclusive to PS3! I can't buy this anymore as it is too ugly to be allowed on my TV.

^____________^

decimalator5721d ago

It may not look as good as it could have, but the gameplay more than makes up for it IMO.

dabri55721d ago

But if the game was ONLY on PS3 Batman would of looked just like Killzone 2 and would have been amazing! Didn't you know? If a developer only makes a game for the PS3, it automatically means the game will have 3 times the poly count, good AA, sharp textures, and no installs. Oh and amazing gameplay that can only be provided by having it be on the PS3. I hope you see my logic now.

Gimped or not, Lensoftruth declared PS3 the winner in comparison with the 360 version. Funny that it uses the Unreal engine just like the rest of the 360 library and still performs better on the ps3

they had a site where you could enlist to become a hechmen for joker... immidiately after you put in your details you'd get a call from comissioner gorden telling you that he knows exactly where you and your group is hiding... they have your ip adress and location and they know exactly what you are upto and the only way you can get out of this mess is to become a rat and help the gcpd...

even with harvey dent ... if you signed up on a site to see the candidates running for da in gotham city ... you'd get a call from dent telling you that he's running for district attorney and wants your vote to clean up the streets and bring this city back in order

they had so many sites like these.. a site with a viral hunt in chicago also had openned where people had to go search for some clues in certain retailers ... the clues were messeges from joker ... really interesting stuff ... the viral campaign for tdk was really amazing ... but you had to look for them online to find em though ...

they had the gotham gazzete site where they had news of sighting of a large figure dressed as a bat... very detailed all the way from little ads to major stories on gothams citizens and cops .... and then you'd have the same news paper on a different site but this time its edited by joker... you'd see red markers everywhere few jokes scribbled on there ... and the papers is dirty with blood and coffee stains on it ... tdk's viral campaign had take up a lot of my time.. i remember some of my friends had come over "concerned"... but blah ... it was worth it though it was one kick ass movie and experience

I'm sure R* knows the Nintendo Switch install base and probably dont really care to port over more R* games to the Nintendo Switch tho i gotta say playing GTA4 & RDR1 on the go on the Nintendo Switch would be dope

Knightofelemia1018d ago

I would buy Lollipop Chainsaw, Alice Madness Returns, Enslaved, Splatter House, Brutal Legends, Dante's Inferno, and Dead Space for sure if they were ported to the Switch.

InklingGirl1018d ago

Same, great group of titles.

Mobis-New-Nest1018d ago

Deus Ex Human Revolution would be a great title to The Holy Grail of All Consoles aka The Nintendo Switch*. Also Haze Remastered, Grand Theft Auto 4 and 5 Remastered, Silent Hill HD Collection, Max Payne 3 Remastered, Call of Duty World At War Remastered, The Orange Box Remastered, Halo Master Chief Collection, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 Remastered, Metal Gear Solid 4 Remastered, Afro Samurai Remastered, Demons Souls Remastered, Xmen Destiny Remastered, Jack and Daxter Collection, Def Jam Icon Remake, Folklore Remastered, Spiderman Edge of Time Remastered, Persona 5 remastered, the list goes on. (*Best Selling Console of All Time)

MontyeKristo1018d ago (Edited 1018d ago )

Can we just get a Bully 2? 😒

iplay1up21018d ago

Seriously? Isn't it time Nintendo make a Switch successor? I mean they have the sales and money.
