Gameplanet: Blizzard 'confused' why other devs abandoning PC; says MP experience is piracy solution

Gameplanet interviewed Blizzard's Rob Pardo, Executive Vice President of Game Design, at BlizzCon 2009, putting some questions to him about Battle.net 2.

Pardo made some interesting comments about how Blizzard views the PC and console game markets, saying that although all their games at the moment are on PC, they are open to doing console games in the future. But the key question for them is what platform a particular game makes sense on, and he clearly believes RTS and RPG games are best suited to the PC. "I think in the past we've made the mistake of taking certain games and porting them to whatever system, not necessarily thinking about how high quality a game the experience will be."

so true and so sad, i wonder how long we'll be able to call those companies pc focused though.....every ports to pc.....*sigh*, i'm keen for multiplats though.....dead space was ported well, lots of tweaking options.

I blame the developers and publishers being unaware of effective ways to stop piracy instead of pumping ineffective DRM into their PC games and expecting the consumers to take it.

We've been asking for less "boring" seasons... "boring"... not "buggy"... same ol' rehashed content just a different color is not working.
