“You don’t have to be a pirate to love Monkey Island, you don’t have to be a metal-head to play Brutal Legend.”

That's the truth right there. Loved Psychonauts so I won't be missing out on this one. Being a metal-head just comes as an added bonus ;)

Oh you a metal head? What type of music you like?

XD

DelbertGrady5787d ago (Edited 5787d ago )

Mostly the Christian scene. I don't like the guitars(too demonic for me) so much but the lyrics really touch me deep inside. Most of the time I turn the music off and just read the lyrics out loud, like a tantra. Bands like As I lay dying, Underoath, P.O.D. and Demon Hunter. I really like how they try to infiltrate the scene and remove everything that's cool about metal. Rock on saturdays, church on sundays! Always wearing my purity ring, of course.

II Necroplasm II5787d ago (Edited 5787d ago )

Yeah I agree. Christian metal is just the way to hear the metal deep in the heart, it brings out the faith while drinking booze at the sametime.

Demon Hunter Ftw! I love those guys.

As I lay dying is such true talent also.. I mean you hear those vocals and you can tell first hand that those vocals have not been done before. Such creative stuff....
and not in it for the money like Dark Throne.

DelbertGrady5787d ago

Darkthrone are such sellouts. What have they ever done to push things forward. Christian metalcore is where it's at. Hard verses yet harmonic, sensitive choruses with emo vocals that I love so much. So innovative. And they write and produce all their songs themselves. It's not like they are put together like some kind of product just to spread the message of the right wing.

biomajor095787d ago

I love demon hunter!!!!! They are the bomb.

OMGLOLZ5787d ago

Are you guys serious? We have Christians on N4G?

That's so weird, this place is a hate fest.

I am not a metal fan at all but I will get this game.

I watch Ozzys scene over and over again and it brings a smile to my face each time.

A HiFi5787d ago

Agree with you both there. Metalhead here too. This game's gonna be great!

xabmol5787d ago

The metal will live on!

But they failed, as they were smite to the ground! HA! HA!

SevWolf5787d ago

lol nice change of lyrics...here goes
"Now it's time to tell you about Brutal Legend...archrival and nemesis of Activision with powers comparable to Activision!! What powers you ask....I dunno, how about the power of flight? does that do anything for you?, that levitation holmes, or the power of killing a yak, from 200 meters away just by looking at it..no pistol just by looking at it...and shooting it....with nothing...but a MotherFvcking MIND BULLET!!"
Lol sorry got a bit carried away there...here's the video if anybody is curious what I'm talking about http://www.youtube.com/watc... LIve the METAL!! lol

This game...holy heck. Makes me feel old.

gamer78041172d ago

I loved that game. Unlocked every song

MadLad1173d ago

Liked the aesthetic, tone, humor, and action combat.
Didn't care for the RTS elements.

Never cared to finish it.

porkChop1173d ago

Yeah they marketed the game like it was a Heavy Metal GTA-ish adventure. And at the beginning of the game that's what it was. The game fell apart when the half-baked RTS stuff came in. I'd be interested in a reboot or sequel, but just go full action adventure and ditch the RTS. There really is something there with the Heavy Metal theme.

Ryushaa1173d ago

I feel you. I just hacked the game to have infinite life/RTS resources

Inverno1172d ago

PS360 gen was special, then again it was still the mid 2000s. Everything went to shite in the teens

mastershredder1172d ago

I think that was the breaker for Doublefine's creative ambitions and their mixing of genres (which was getting kinda stale). It was a nice to look at but it was more of a tribute to the many things Tim loves, was influenced by and has great admiration for....but the forced RTS stuff was like a drinking buddy's "great idea" that never should have come to light. The game seemed a lot more vast, but it ended pretty quickly too. And Jack Black. As much as I don't care for him as an actor (annoying and requires constant attention), this was absolutely made with him in mind and it worked. I mean come on, Tenacious D? For as Metal as this game was trying to be, even comically, it did little more than meow.
