Capcom surprised by Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sales

The enhanced remake of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is selling better than expected.

I hope Capcom is working on Marvel Vs Capcom 3...giving it the Street Fighter 4 treatment... I picked up MvC2 this week on the PSN and it is really nice looking on the HDTV. Nice to play this again.

Capcom can't work on anything related to Marvel because Activision has the licenses for it... So, start to giving up on that dream for now.

In a lot of ways, I'd be more excited for a Capcom vs SNK 3 than a Marvel vs Capcom 3. But the marvel game would obviously have more popularity.

I'm not surprised it's selling well. It's one of the most popular fighting games ever, but it's also very hard to acquire. This, more or less, makes it acessible to everyone.

that's exactly my point, I said gameplay was great. What I'm saying is that lots of people would not give this game the time of day if it weren't for the marvel characters. don't you ever wonder why it's way more popular in the Western world as opposed to Japan?

i kinda figured it was gonna do good on sales MVC2 is a good game its a classic i think so now they can work on MVC3 i would to see it SF4 style but i think they should keep it in the orginal 2d but thats my opinion

Sometimes I wonder who runs these corporations. There are so many games that gamers would like a remake or better yet a sequel made for but just hasn't been done. Bioshock was so supposed to be a spiritual successor to System Shock and did well but how about a new System Shock? Where's the new Ultima, Phantasy Star, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Out of this World, X-wing, and on and on! So many games without a proper sequel or some ole ones that would be great remade, maybe even re-release like they did with this game which is hard to find at a decent price. Sometimes I think these companies are run by former jock heads who simply have no idea what gamers want. No clue at all.

and capcom listened. Now the gamers have to get vocal about CvS, and hopefully they will make a new one, using SNK's hand-drawn art with SF's good net code. I guess I wouldn't mind a 3d model game, but I just can't imaging SNK characters in 3D (I know about Maximum Impact, but I try to block that out of my memory), but hey prove me wrong!

i'm sure fans of the series will love it but i was dissapointed. i'll put my hands up and say i'd never played a sf game before ssf2hd remix but that game was really gd cus it looks like they put a lot of effort into it, inluding upping the graphics. here they're tweaked the graphics a bit and added online mode. I know that original copies of the game are rare etc but i was expecting more tbh

Downloaded the demo and what a disgrace.
Not to nitpick but the graphics are terrible I feel SF2HDR was superior.

THe 3v3 gameplay is pretty "WTF" you can't even do basic 1v1.... gawd at least give the option for both.

Only thing I find decent is the huge character roster.

Bottom line if you're casual to fighting games stay away from this one, it's more "WTF" than anything else.

then you know nothing about the heritage of capcom VS games. Tag fighting was the big thing during this age which started with Xmen vs. SF. Marvels jump from 2v2 to 3v3 was something new and the move paid off as you can tell by the massive community and the developers that still support the game today. Despite it's age it's still being played at major tournaments today. Hmmmm.... i wonder why that is? I respect other's opinions but when you say something like "they dont have 1v1 fighting" the facepalming is so hard that my palm is at the back of my skull.

1. Do you know how long it would take to redraw ALL 56 characters and backgrounds? SSF2T took long enough.

2. 3vs3 was always part of the game since the beginning. Its suppose to be a over-the-top game.

3. This game was for the casuals back in 00. Plus, i see casuals play this game all the time at the arcade and have fun.

game sells well not for the graphics but the quality of gameplay...its old school 2D at its best. anyone who boasts about how the graphics are terrible on this game are completely unaware that those pretty graphic games that have horrible gameplay are stealing your money and laughin at you at this moment.

on the side note...i still play this game on a ritual on ps3 BC (ps2). kinda want the one on psn tho.

Game is FuQing terrible.
The sprites look like they're hand drawn by a gradeschooler. The background animation don't even fit on the damn screen.

I would buy this game if it was suited for widescreen tv's. I hate seeing my characters bounce off of imaginary walls. I hope to get the dream cast version again one day. Screw online play anyways.

I got this game of PSN, and its frigging awesome as it has always been, but omg capcom made a serious mistake, in the control layout department, WHY DIDN'T THEY ADD AN OPTION SO WE CAN MAP 2P OR 2K INTO A SINGLE BUTTON, I hate having to press 2 buttons at the same time for my specials, specially 2 buttons that are horinzotal [] and /\ or X and O.

Please capcom, make the controls like PS2, DC and XBOX versions, so we can map the frigging 2K and 2P into one single button.
