GamesRadar writes: "Three outstanding games (two of which are vastly enhanced with dead-on motion controls) available for the price of one. We can't imagine a better on Wii this year".
Nintendo had given Retro Studios the task of remastering the Metroid Prime Trilogy after the studio's unannounced music RPG was canceled.
Maybe it will happen after Metroid Prime 4 launches. Put Metroid Prime 2 & 3 on Switch and Switch 2.
"Metroid Prime Trilogy, the Wii compilation of Retro Studios' first-person take on the Metroid series, launched in North America on 24th August 2009, exactly 15 years ago.
In honour of that sparking release (well, a little less sparkling than the originals in some places due to a few missing effects), we're taking the opportunity to recap Samus' story so far in the Metroid Prime games while we wait for the fourth numbered entry..." - Ollie Reynolds | NintendoLife
my most anticipated game.
just started playing the Trilogy on WiiU again (love the motion controls with wiimote)
amazing series!

What?
Not to be b/tchy but...(97+92+90)/3 = 93...not a 9 =P
It only shows how nonsensical ratings are =D...but you can't fight it...
I don't understand knocking the games for being similar. They're all Metroid Prime games. Of COURSE they'll feel similar.
That's like blaming Halo for being Halo or GTA for being GTA.
Re-traversal is a hallmark of the series. Powering up, too (and it's the same in any shooter; you don't start off with the most powerful weapons).
That said, I never really put together the similarities between Bioshock and Prime, mainly because of the Rand-esque plot elements in Bioshock. But it is true...they are shooters that focus more on atmosphere than shooting, and with back stories playing a big role. I guess that's why I loved Prime 3 and Bioshock so much when they came out.
Those vid clips on the last page really sold me (as if I needed it at this point). I had forgotten just how stiff Prime 1 and 2 were. I'd guess Echoes will be significantly easier now because the controls will be so much better.
A 9 seems low to me, but I'm far too biased at this point to be objective about Metroid.
lol...so they do take Metacritic into consideration when they rate games. I loved the first and third one but I missed the 2nd one. I might pick it up just to play that one.
doesn't make much sense. But it's a good score regardless. I hope people who missed out the first time buy this game in large numbers. As well as those who want to play the new control scheme on 1&2. This is the first remake/re-release of a Nintendo game in a long time that's actually been a great value rather than a ripoff or borderline ripoff.
this game really is nintendo's present to the old school hardcore audience. I think it must be nintendos way of saying they are sorry for not pushing more core titles on the wii. Thank god the list of quality games coming for us this year is utterly massive in scope compared to last. Extraction to muramasa and some online tat vs cap. It's good to have a wii right now :D.
