GamePro Arcade writes: " I think Nintendo heard my rant on very crappy WiiWare titles because this week two very exciting games hit WiiWare. First up on the list is BUBBLE BOBBLE Plus! This remake of the classic franchise sounds like it would just be another mediocre port of the same game you have played a hundred times. Surprisingly enough, it actually has a ton of new features to get new and veteran players back into a classic franchise."
GamesRadar writes: "A four-player Arrange mode and Super Arrange mode offer something new. Here there are clues to solve to unravel a story (no, really) and diagonal platforms allow for diagonal fire, which you won't find in the original. They've messed with the concept but thankfully it works. The more competitive types among you can post your high scores on a world ranking table. There's an 'expert' level pack to download too".
GamersInfo writes: "If you have uber-fond memories of the original and a GameCube controller or two on hand, that might be the way to go. This way your nostalgia will not be ruined, and you'll be able to easily play with a friend - the way it's meant to be. On the other hand, Bubble Bobble Plus has twice the value for 100 points more than the original. Add in the two expert builds and it has three times the content for twice the price of the original game on the virtual console. Obviously, you are getting your money's worth by purchasing the WiiWare version. Personally, I am rather happy with Bubble Bobble Plus. While I wish multiplayer was more accessible, it quickly earns its keep. It might pop my bubble of fun from time to time, but at least I get to pop the bubbles of monsters".
NWR writes: "Bubble Bobble Plus would be the ultimate Bubble Bobble experience, were it not marred by the lack of any kind of save or password feature. It's enjoyable, no doubt, until you realize that you have to start at stage 1 every time you start it up. As a result, I have to recommend the original NES VC version over this one. It doesn't have four-player co-op, but it does let you save your progress".
