Just in time for Comic-Con, Konami officially announced that it's publishing a downloadable game based on hit Adult Swim show Metalocalypse. Earlier today, G4TV dropped into the publisher's hotel suite for a very brief first hands-on with Metalocalypse: Dethgame. It seems like a strange comparison, but the gameplay style reminds them most of No More Heroes.
According to reports circulating the internet, Metalocalypse: Dethgame, the game based on the Adult Swim TV series has been axed.
Adult Swim retracted their licence and thus ending development of the game due for release on PSN (Playstation Network) and Xbox Live Arcade.
wow this game must have sucked because it was way deep into the dev cycle, it was playable over a year ago
PSX Extreme writes: "If you're at all familiar with the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup, you've certainly heard of "Metalocalypse," an off-the-wall animated headbanger-fest for hardcore fans of the music genre in question. Now, if you're a fan, you've likely been asking yourself, "gee, I wonder when they're going to make a game based on my favorite cartoon?" After all, they've already done it several times in the past, and they've even gone so far as to give an Internet comic strip (Penny Arcade) their own downloadable video games. Well, Konami is stepping in and giving developer Frozen Codebase a chance to appeal to all you metalheads out there with Metalocalypse: Dethgame, which is slated to release later this year on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace."
"We got an early look at the impossibly metal Metalocalypse here at San Deigo Comic-con, where it is making its debut. Konami is busy readying the game for the PlayStation 3's PSN and the Xbox 360's Live Arcade, and their own Asa Dang showed us what it's like to be a Dethklok roadie."
this game will be so terrible. I can't believe someone is wasting the time and money to make it...
