The Blu-ray Advantage: Carmack Says Doom 4 Will Most Likely Require 3 DVDs
Speaking to Game Informer, id’s John Carmack restated that RAGE, in its original design, took up 3 DVD’s worth of data. But since the game was made up of 2 large wastelands, it made more sense to split it up onto 2 discs.
Carmack tells GI that Doom 4, on the other hand, is being structured in a way that will most likely be splittable across 3 DVDs.
Due to its 25GB-50GB capacity, the Blu-ray version will consist of a single disc for each game.
