Gaming Union: The Conduit Review

Gaming Union writes: "All in all the game is pretty decent. The experience is fun throughout and it wouldn't be difficult to go back and play through it again. However, its biggest drawback is the length. There just shouldn't be any excuse for a game of this nature to be so short, because not only does it leave the player wanting more, it makes the extensive story seem like it's been crammed into a tiny package. Played this recently, didn't think it was too bad although it was far too short.

mephman5790d ago

Yea, the length is a bit of a downer.

I will never understand people complaining about the length of the single player in this game. You can beat COD4 in an afternoon, too, yet no one complained about it.

Why? Because of online multiplayer. And it's something Conduit has, but it's not mentioned once in this review.

For me, Conduit's value is 25% single player, 75% online multiplayer. So this guy reviewed a quarter of the game.

It is actually mentioned in the review, towards the end. Good job on reading it.

If you can find people to consistantly play against online, good luck.

Meph -- My bad. I missed the one sentence.

I shouldn't have used the word "mentioned," but I'd hardly call an observation on the length of time it takes to get into an online match -- with absolutely no commentary or review on the actual gameplay experience of playing IN the match -- much of a review for the online component. And that's a shame. It's the biggest part of the game, IMO.

Well, the experience online is much the same as in the single player campaign.

The only difference is the new levels and the fact you are playing against people.

Selyah5790d ago

I actually tried the multiplayer a bit, it just didn't really do it for me though, there were also issues with slow down I didn't really like it at all. I hardly think it can be compared to the likes of Call of Duty either.

dang, I was hoping it'd keep me playing when I got it

mephman5790d ago

Well, you can always play through the single player campaign a few times. :p

mastiffchild5790d ago

Well We haven't got it yet un the UK but most of my US mates that have the game actually seem to rate the MP. I expect it'll do well in the UK with everyone being so close together server wise as WaW is pretty good for lag and slow down(though it does tend to disconnect lots)in matches with people of the same area.

Still going to support it for the effort and so they make a sequel!Sold OK has it?

ShawnCollier5790d ago

Hopefully they'll focus on fixing the issues for the inevitable sequel. ;)

Splatoon 2 Shows Off What Wii Shooters Should Have Been

There’s a consensus about Splatoon 1 that cannot be disputed: motion controls are the way to play. The Wii U Gamepad had its many problems on the system as a whole, but along with the way in which the touch screen was implemented in the first game like I mentioned in my last piece, using the Gamepad’s gyroscope was deemed a superior way to play compared to traditional joystick control.
