Team17 returns to it's roots with a stunning remake of Alien Breed.
Looks stunning. Now give us Project X complete with its thumping soundtrack.
Those screen shots look hot.I have not been a big XBLA gamer recently but with titles like Shadow Complex,Trails HD,Battlefield 1943 and now Alien Breed, it seems my stance is changing.I hope its an 09 title.
...it's kinda neat. I like the 3D top down feel they added to it. They could remake plenty of abandonware and remarket it. Crusader would be a nice addition... ...come to think of it, bring back: Blood, Descent, Discworld, Alley Cat, Magic Carpet, and Knight Games... tia!
I can remember playing this when I was a kid on my Amiga 512! Happy days. Simple times! With Monkey Island and now Alien Breed...what else will they port over?
DAMN xbla is killing this year
XBLA has been killing all the time when it comes to games. There are like 3-4 new titles released every week. Some of the XBLA games I'm interested in atm: Ion Assault, Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, 'Splosion Man and Cletus Clay.
More exclusives? =D
MECHWARRIOR 5 Exclusive to MS consoles coming out soon! video in the pending sectioN! lookin mad Sick guys!
I love being a 360 owner :)
there's a game that looks like this that came out on the wii back in teh days right? I dont remember the name though.
This is SO 1991. Really love this game and sequel. Someone would port all the amazing Amiga games to PC or something. So many jewels... I really miss old computer games. The were so simple yet great to play.
are you sure your not taliking about alien syndrome by sega? I had alien breed on amiga way back.
do you mean project hammer that game looked lame that why it was canceld
Holy sh1t on a shovel, this game was one of the Amiga must have gems, cany wait! oh happy day :)
I spent weeks blasting Alien Breed on the Amiga. Great game, but s*** hard in places. Can't wait for this! EDIT: For you younguns that haven't played this game, there's a pretty damn good remake for the PC here: http://www.alienbreed.co.uk... Saves you having to deal with configuring Amiga emulators.
I was actually aware of this coming for sometime! It's great to see that Team 17 are willing to invest in a non-Worms project. Hopefully it'll be a financial success for them and they'll return to their former glory. (From what I understand, Team 17 have been stuck in a rut where they usually only make enough money from making a Worms game to enable them to develop another - anything else was considered too much of a risk to the future of the company).
This and Wings were two of my favorite games on the Amiga. Anyone know if this is exclusive to the 360 or if its also coming to the PS3?
You'd hope they'd want to distribute it to as many platforms as possible to make so money so here's hoping...
I read an article in GamesTM about this a couple of weeks ago (It had screenshots of the new Alien Breed and everything, so I don't know why this is such big news) but if I recall correctly, they were 360/PC exclusive for the moment. Worms 2: Armageddon certainly was.
Its 360 for the moment for a period of time, then the PS3 version will hit. Same sort of deal as Worms (XBL 1st then PSN).
Oh yes! Can't wait how this franchise can get all HD'd up. About time Team 17 stopped relying on Worms. Retro Gamer reported this in an issue a good few weeks ago.
As Meerkat says.. Do Project X too! I loved those games on my Amiga. WARNING.. DESTRUCTION IMMINENT!
Great news. Loved that on the amiga. What i really want is Dungeon Master on there. Make it so.
...was brilliant. I played it to death and loved every minute of it. Dungeon Master II was a day one purchase for me as a result. When I played the latest Oblivion, the beginning sequence reminded me so much of playing Dungeon Master.
day one purchase for me. i remember when it first came out, oh the golden days of gaming.
hope they keep the music the same, god how i love amiga music
