Lately I've been taking IGN's reviews with a bit of skepticism. They seem to be giving out 8s and 9s like candy these days.

I'm not saying that Conduit didn't deserve it's score. I'm merely stating that I prefer multiple opinions to just one.

And it's definitely not a "must-have." I have an extensive Wii library but I really could care less about this game. I have already played Gears, that's all the sci-fi gritty shooter I need.

I'm thinking of soft modding my wii, the last 5 or 6 games ive bought have been a bit rubbish and I only played them for less than an hour each, it just does not justify the purchases.

Look at Punch Out, yeah its nice but after you have beaten all the boxers (this does not take long at all) there is no reason to keep playing. This feels like a DLC game and not something that should cost £40.

Considering the wii is really just a Gamecube, I find it scandalous that they charge the same price as a 360 or ps3 title (lets not even get started on the price of the console). And I can never get over the fact of DS games being more expensive than PC games, wtf, Nintendo = GREEDY.

edit: the wiis lack of demos for its games does not help the situation either, no way to try before i buy.

I agree with you on most of what you said especially the Gears part, but I'm all for Wii precision in a genre it would seem to be a no-brainer for it to cater to. I feel like the score was kind of low, but I agree that the art direction(mainly enemy and environments) is for the most part terrible save a couple of them which I liked. But if people want to see what Wii is capable of then this game shows a little bit of that and I do feel like HV held back a lot. We will see in future games.

@perjoss, So you havent played any game more than 1 hour yet you beat Punch Out 100% complete in that time? Complete BS. I also like how you can say 5-6 games you bought and all were complete rubbish but you cant give any names beyond one you obviously never played.

ALso DS games cost 29.99 to 34.99. PC games cost 39.99 to 49.99 for new titles. Not really sure where you get your info from but it is kinda pathetic. well I guess the control scheme is its best asset. That means, its not the console's fault the game didn't sit well with GameSpot. If there would ever be a sequel, it should be better than this, since this game has a lot of potential

Definitely borrow it or rent it before buying. Personally I was disappointed and happy it was just a rental. My personal take is that if you only have a Wii, this is an ok game; if you also have either a 360 and/or PS3, there are much better shooters out there to spend your time on.

I agree it is always better to judge yourself. My recommendation to you (since I think you have a 360 and maybe a PS3 too), just rent this game if you can rather than buying it.

No its not. It has a 7.5 average on Metacritic. Its an allright game, but thats it. And certainly not a must have for Wii owners. First off if you dislike FPS you should not own it and 2nd, a 7.5 score isn't a fixed buy overall.

I can see why you would say this it's better than any game that's been released on the xbox 360 int he last year; and it's on the nintendo wii a last generation machine. I mean wht good games have came out ont he 360 in the last year other than multiplatform games, gears 2 was sh!t, every where i go i see games for 360 advertised but there all ulti platform games, Ps3 games advertised are exclusives so get it up ya ya diK.

it really doesn't matter what most reviews say. but there's 1 thing i'm certain. if this game came out for the PS3 or XBOX360 it will receive such low score that it will be call 1 of the worst games of 2009. Actually, most Wii games are rated higuer than they should. and worst of all is that ALL of the Wii games look no better than a GAMECUBE game. i think the Wii is getting a free pass this gen and that is UNFAIR

You know whats UNFAIR? That you basically ignore the whole customizable control system, to many its the thing that makes the conduit good.
IGN even wanted to give out 10/10 IF you based the game only on controls.

Its not getting a free pass, in this case the game apparently seem to play well.
Now take you bias and shove it, at least try the damn game before you bash it.

If the Wii was really getting a "free" pass no one would be bashing it.

Actually most Wii games are rated lower than they should be because of some first gen gamer attitude like yours. Consoles have never been judged by what other consoles can do. Yet many sites this gen have the same limited mindset you do. That even though the Wii doesnt have a 3.2ghz processor its games should be rated as if it did... Sounds to me its just some poor excuse for fanboys to have something to complain about...

Really if this was a PS3 game, you'd be complaining about the review being too low most likely.
