Max Payne 3 GI Scans Released

Looks decent but i don't like the new look and the bright environments of the game so far. Also the character design doesn't appeal to me. Why is it that he has to look like a fat hobo. The game better not turn into a mindless shoot fest i swear. Max Payne always had a dark and creepy look to it, and frankly i had the best times with 1 & 2. Hopefully it doesn't go the way of the turd.

I can't give a flying sh!t if Max Payne were matrix action or way more calm, it wasn't about the gameplay for me. It was the story, the noir style, the comic book storytelling.

lol, people actually expect a Max Payne movie that's not by Remedy to be good? looks like they've tried too hard at making it dark and edgy, this doesn't look anything like Max Payne, the graphics are bright and colorful, it's in the daytime, max payne is somehow bald with a beard, it looks like they were just developing some other generic third person shooter and decided to slap the max payne name on it. I bet they even slow down the gameplay, make the hitboxes huge, and add a cover system so it plays more "comfortable" on a gamepad, unlike the first two real games which were designed to be played on a mouse and keyboard.

i think the graphics will be pretty much evenly spread out for the most part on consoles and pc .... unlike the market in 2004 ... consoles are high priority now a days... and since they are incorporating a cover system it shows that they are moving with time ...

LOL @ Uncharted 2 best graphics. U2 graphics are glitchy and inconsistent. You guys are blind. I heard one guy say, "Uncharted 2 is like a girl that looks extra gorgeous until you go up close and notice the pounds of make-up on her", and I couldn't agree more.

I just can't get excited about this, I can't believe I'm not going to get the to see the dark, gritty snow covered city in next gen graphics. Don't see how they can work the dark film noir style of the previous games in to this either. Not saying it's gonna be a bad game, it just wont be a Max Payne game.

I completely agree. I mean, it looks like it has the potential be a good game, but at the same time it seems that they are straying from some of the aspects that really made Max Payne an amazing series to begin with. I could be wrong, but I really don't know if I am going to enjoy playing a bald, depressed, and homeless looking Max, as opposed to the dark and gritty, leather jacket, avenger-like Max from both prior games.

Judging from what has been said and now shown, I just don't know if I can really get behind this. Though to be fair, I will reserve my final decision for when the game releases. For all I know, this could turn out to be amazing. I really hope they follow the same qualities of the prior games, and put the main focus on story and gameplay, rather than on graphics. I also hope they keep the comic-book style integers, and wonderful voice acting. Still surprised this wasn't shown at E3, considering it's release this year.

For all you know, 80 % of the game could be during night time.

Max payne was never about covering, more about running into the open, and using slow motion (Bullet time) to your advantage to shoot everything that moves.

There's not that same old Max Payne vibe going on any more... I could be wrong but at this point I am really dissapointed. Well...what can you expect: It's not made by the series original developer.

The grafics seem to be really good but i need to see good quality scans to be sure about it... I LOVED Max Payne 1+2 and if i remmember correctly(which i do...) they had a "film noir" feeling. They were dark games and i liked this. Now it is with lots of colors and not set in New York anymore. This seems that it will be a great action game but it seems it will not have the personality of the first 2 games. Thank god at least it's Rockstar developing it. If it was any other studio i would have lost all hope for it.

WTF guys? You see a few screens of the game and have come to the conclusion that this isn't going to be Max Payne at all? I know that as gamers we can only comment on what's released, but talk about naivety. Sheesh.

Rockstar aren't idiots. I'm willing to bet that they're well aware of what made the first two Max Payne games so special and will probably try and recreate some of the magic. The cover system is a little disappointing, but I'm guessing it isn't compulsory. Therefore, I'll be trying to play the game using bullet time, just like the first two games.

Don't get me wrong, I still have my reservations about how faithful this will be to the series. But I'm willing to give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt, for now.

As awesome as Alan Wake looks - and it really does look awesome - if I had the choice of Remedy devoting all their efforts to a new IP or a sequel to Max Payne, I'd choose the latter every single time.

I still maintain that Rockstar will do a fantastic job though.

For one I think this direction ISN'T the right one. Firstly it looks to be a fairly open, bright and colourful jungle, ummmmm...WTF?! Max Payne has never been about open, bright and colourful! It is a dark story set it drab and grey settings that are usually fairly confined to corridors.

I really hope that this new development team haven't tried to make this Max Payne their own. Please make it like the previous Max Payne's that is why the friggen game has sold so well and is loved by so many. Not becuase it is some throwaway franchise that can be changed at the drop of a hat. PLEASE DON'T RUIN IT!

Not impressed. Reason 1. Cover system in a MAX PAYNE game. Reason 2. NY was THE main character in the first 2. Reason 3. South America is not noir. Reason 4. Max looks fvcking stupid. Reaso..... It may look now like it's straying a bit from what made maxpayne what it is, but it's to early to come to that conclusion. Wait til' closer to release when we have seen more (or better yet til' you have played it), and decide from there. You may be in for a pleasant surprise.
