Raiden Finally Appears On Kojima's Teaser Website

Raiden's (or an unknown characters) face finally appears on Kojima's teaser website along with new letters and numbers like 6, C, O, P.

I was saying a few days ago the countdown finale isn't confirmation of this new game in a series which is known to be a playstation series is coming to the PS3. The end of the countdown and whats revealed then is the finale. Meaning we know the game is being teased from Playstation media and thats made apparent yet the true purpose of this hype tactic isn't revealed yet.

as far as i know, P has nothing to do with platform. and 3 6 0 werent mentioned in the interview so we are not sure. but since the FAMITSU XBOX dont even get this interview, i would say the chance is pretty low......at least in Japan.

right well, i'm not in the mood here to start a flame war, i saw a bunch of letters and numbers and tried to make them fit.

all these numbers and letters could make platforms and titles, it could also be just a little game that kojima is trying to pull on everyone.

who knows, kojima probably might not show ALL the letters so that no one would solve the puzzle.....if that's true then people should just stop racking their brains and just watch it unfold.

well, in the interview kojima seems already have a pretty good idea about the story. he toss raiden and big boss out to see people's reaction. he wanted to hear things like "WTH? is this Time slip? that would be silly!""this must be XXXXXXXX, no matter what""well, it might be XXXXXX as well"
and the editor ask him will there be people who can figure it out.

i watched the teaser in sequence and the first six letters are c-o-r-p-s-e that can make corpse as i said.which refers to the BOSS.Then E-3 and 6-3.We might see the 9 soon.i am not sure tho.i enjoy whatever Kojima does tho.even playig with the Boss that looks like Raiden.;)

That's not Raiden. Its Frank Jaeger from "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake" and 'Metal Gear Solid.' The reason for the resemblance of his Cyborg Ninja appearance to Raiden's in MGS4 is basically because they both were finished construction by Dr. Drago Pettrovich Madnar. He designed different MG-types and Frank Jaeger's exo cydorg ninja body. In MGS4 he was mentioned to have helped Raiden with his cyborg body. He looks like Einstein.

This is the proof that this new Kojima game, is going to be a remake the old-original "Metal Gear" from MSX and possibly combined with "MG2: Solid Snake" also from MSX.

I really dont think thats him. Even if graphics allow more detail, I don't think they will portray an old character in a completely different way. Also Jaeger had a lower jaw, and his RIGHT eye was messed up, not his left. Not to mention a 1000 ton robot crushed him. Even if it was before solid snake, the details aren't consistent what so ever.

Responding to Rockleex, he was thinking it was a remade The Boss, just like how Cyborg Ninja was made..but if he thinks that's the Boss (from MGS3), it can't be right. In the pic above, the Boss has blue eyes.

I think its Olga from MGS2. Here is why I think it is..
a) Olga was shot in the head. Possibly the eye (picture link at bottom)
b) Jaeger (cyborg ninja) didn't have a barcode
c) Raiden has blue eyes (rules him out)
d) Arched eye brows
e) I'm pretty sure Olga had brown eyes...Sunny, her daughter has brown eyes as well
f) For part of the game, Olga was the Ninja..coincidence?
g) Olga did not have a fitting ending..Kojima never lets a main character go without a story.

I know thats the Boss, I was saying the picture of "raiden" on the teaser site...isn't Raiden..isn't a recreated version of the Boss as a cyborg, and isn't Frank Jaeger. It's a female, 100% sure.

The picture from the teaser site has brown eyes.
+The Boss has blue eyes
+Raiden has blue eyes (no bar code)
+Jaeger had 1 eye..but it was HIS right eye that was messed up, not his left..not to mention blue eyes.

So I came to the conclusion that it's Olga. Olga (im pretty sure) had brown eyes, amost white blonde hair, and was also for a short time the ninja in MGS2.

The thing that doesn't make sense though is why would Big Boss be in the teaser? Those two are from different time frames. Olga got shot around the 90's (if i remember the timeline correct), and Big Boss was part of the Cold War conflict (1950s), which is when he lost his eye. By the time Olga died, Big Boss gained a good 40-50 years on top of his already 20 odd years, leaving him into the 70 year range.

Here's some food for thought, Raiden wears the same suit or something similar as the FROGS. The origins of the FROGS were never revealed in MGS4.

Perhaps what we see is a FROG clone just without the mask.

Big Boss wore a Beret with some logo that looks like Outer Haven's. Snake never wore a beret.

Big Boss also wore his hair slightly longer than Snake did like that photo on Kojima's site, plus Big Boss' hair was a little mangier when he was younger. Snake kept his hair pretty well kept.

...that's Frank Jaeger. The tiny details like bar codes and loss jaw skin are simply art style adaptations due the improvement of graphics.

Dr. Drago Pettrovich Madnar work on finishing construction on both Frank Jaeger (in MS2:SS) and Raiden (in MGS4). That's the reason for the similarities.

And I think that the bandanna that the Cyborg Ninja has in Kojima's mystery picture is Solid Snake's bandanna. We will probably see when Frank gives it to Snake.

You are correct but having an armor like superficial suit like that would just entice his overall persona as a ninja. Many characters have used different types of suits in this game. Weather it's Solidus' Ray like artificial muscle suit or Snakes Octocamo, it all has a purpose, to give them the extra edge in battle.

Well I think Project Raiden is a project being conducted by someone, idk, and it has to do with producing robotic versions of Raiden. That would explain the bar code and screws on his head, and why his eyes were red. Maybe you will play as this "new" clone of big boss and try to defeat the evil Raidens and who ever is doing this.

The eyes on the teaser site clearly show different eyes to Raidens. Raidens eyes are blue (any self respecting MGS fan would know this) just google him for proof. On the teaser site his/her eyes are brown/red. Its not Raiden or clones of him as a clone has the same DNA, which codes for eye colour

^^ Gray Fox never , i repeat NEVER lost his eye in the ORIGINAL MGS1 for PSone.He only lost he eye in Twin Snakes , where the director (who wasnt Kojima) f***ed up almost every single cutscene and tried to imitate matrix...

Kojima himself has said that the original version i.e. the PSone version , is the valid one.And in that version Gray Fox didnt lose his eye.

I'm going to try to look at the picture and use the story and facts I know from MGS.

First of all. I'm 99% sure that it's not Raiden we see. Why? Well because of the eye color. It really makes sence that it's not him when the eye color is wrong. Sure Kojima may come up with something that gives a reason for the color change in his eyes, but it's not likley. Would be to much trouble and would just be a silly plot.

When you look at this persons eyes, you should be able to see that her eyebrowns (sp?) is "fixed" or what it's called in english. This tells us it's most likley a women, but it may of course still be a man.

Since Raiden is out of the question, we have only two known cyborgs left. And thats Olga and Grey Fox. This Armor look like it's newer then the one Fox used in MGS, but at the same time, the graphics werent close to be what they are now when the original MGS was made, so it can also be how Kojima always wanted it to be.

Some people say it could be Sunny, but may I ask when the story of this game should be sentered? 10 years after MGS4? I rather think it should be before, give us more background story. And I belive that the 4 years where we don't truly know what Raiden did could be excelent for this, but I'm not convinced that we will be playing as a Ninja, would be cool, but a lot of the essence in the MGS games would be gone.

To ruin the Olga teori, why didn't she go and find Sunny herself? Why did Raiden have to do that if Olga was still alive? It dosen't make sence, and I don't truly see how it would fit in. What did Olga do when Raiden was out looking for Sunny?

It will make more sence if it's Grey Fox we see and we might get into some of the action between Big Boss and Zero. There you can have a lot of different missions and more story for us.

I think you're right in a few obvious ways, but Olga wouldn't be my pick because she was in MGS2 and her daughter was in MGS4. If Kojima wants he could write in all the events in between those 2 games and there you'd have her plot, but why? Sonny would be the perfect place to start. You're right in highlighting a few plot mistakes if they DO decide to make Olga this cyborg ninja.

I'm still with the thought that the cyborg ninja's a guy, but it's possible that it's a woman I guess.

Kojima doesn't want the puzzle to be solved until E3. All he is doing is amusing himself by watching everyone (including me) try to guess what the hell everything means. It keeps us talking, and keeps us interested, meaning the E3 announcement will no doubt receive even more hype than it normally would.

I have to say though if Kojima is just messing with us and there's no MGS announcement, I'm going to be mad. :-)

Once we come to a conclusion then we notice something else about that picture. Kojima loves throwing us off. I mean look at the picture, the jaw clearly looks like Raidens jaw from MGS4. But then if you look closely at his/her eyebrows it clearly looks like how a women would cut her eyebrows. This picture even has the same color hair and style of Raidens, another throw off. Now lets go to the eye patch, Raiden clearly didn't lose an eye but Grey Fox did, so we think (if I can remember correctly).

There are too many things in this picture that throws us off and Kojima is laughing all the way to the bank. It could very well be Sunny, it could also be Olga, could be someone we never really thought about but whoever it is you best be sure Kojima would have all the pieces fit together and make us say "ahh Kojima's the man". I just wish we can get this over with. All this speculation is killin me. Just give me a cyborg ninja to play as.

He did say that if he were to make something for another console it would have to be its own story apart from the Solid saga. But then again, Raiden is part of the Solid saga. So this is not Raiden. It could be that he's splitting the saga in two, with the Bog Boss/Solid Snake saga on one side and then Raiden/Grey Fox on the other. That's the most logical conclusion honestly, since he does that in the games anyway. It could be that now Raiden/Grey Fox/cyborg ninja-thingie gets its own series now.

It's possible that Kojima will write a story for the x360 that won't need too many references to the work he's done with PlayStation. So maybe it's all new and refreshing and has nothing to do with what we think it is. Fanboys can go ahead and disagree but you're basically doubting Koijma's talent at writing stories. And sure it's all just speculation so I'm not holding my breath. E3 isn't that far away anyway.

Why would Kojima want to make an exclusive Metal Gear game for the 360? That would make zero sense in pleasing his fans. Anybody that really cares about his games already has a PS3 and MGS4. They may have a 360 as well, but anyone who is holding out for a 360 version is living in a dream world. That is all.

That means starting fresh with nothing to have to continue from, or back tracking to another gen/console. So your argument that everyone who cares about the series already has a PS3 is only good FOR THAT SERIES. Kojima can start something new at this point, much like how he went from nintendo to start something new with playstation (with the solid series).

i read that on this E3 that konami would SURPRISE the whole world, if it's MGS5 than that's not a surprise, everyone here and out side of N4G is expecting for it to be that.

i'm not sure if this project is really MGS5, it might not even use MGS in the title cause the solid series ended with solid snake, in fact if you look at it there isn't even a "M" or a "G" in their quick time movie announcement, there's just a "R" followed by a bunch of other numbers and letters.

Think about this, MGS2 and MGS3, neither of these starred SOLID snake.... Raiden and Naked Snake(Big Boss)

Now, with these speculations with a Metal Gear Raiden, Raiden was Jack's codename. Just like Solid Snake was David's and Naked Snake was Jack's(Big Boss's real name). But the key note is SNAKE was several people's codenames. Thus Raiden may be a codename for other people as well.

So if it does end up being like a Metal Gear Raiden, it may not necessarily be Jack(raiden), it may be like Olga/Sunny in a "Raiden Project" suit. With those brown eyes, my guess is honestly has to be either of the two. Couldn't be The Boss (she had blue eyes and blonde hair), and not Big Mama(EVA) because even rebuilt, she's old enough to be able to pick out in a crowd, also has blonde hair, not white.

Still don't know what to make of the Big Boss character tho. It definitely fits the bill for Big Boss, but the only question I raise is what's the story with Akiba, we know one of the games is supposedly set 7-15 years after MGS4, so why couldn't both these characters be in that one game. Only reason I bring this up is because, like others I'm sure, Akiba sure as hell looked a lot like the Snake clones, and with his nanomachines being different from others (hence the upset stomach and stuff, just like the guard from MGS, who's nanomachines caused that I do believe), Akiba may have had them inplanted in him when he was cloned, about the same time as Shadow Moses I would think.

Of course that's all just speculation not knowing much about Akiba's past, just kinda what I had thought of since he did favor a very young Snake.

In MGS2 it was revealed that Raiden was part of an experiment(by the Patriots) re-enacting the events of Shadow Moses in order to produce the world's strongest soldier through the "Solid Snake Simulation". In my opinion the Patriots have been watching him for a long time. You see, Raiden has been a guinea pig all along.
Here's my theory: Raiden is actually a clone of Frank Jaeger's. The similarities are too strong to miss: Both were brought up as child soldiers (efficient ones I might add);both were looked after by an adoptive father figure named 'Snake'(Naked & Solidus);both rescued an orphan child (Naomi & Sunny); both were subject to experimental enhancement surgery; both have the white hair; hell in MG-PO Null even sounds like Raiden.
But here's the kicker, Raiden's not the only one. After the 'Les Enfants Terribles' project the Patriots were probably thinking "Hey, why don't we try this with 'the perfect soldier' Grey Fox" and before you knew it the 'Les Enfants Increibles' project took flight. After all, he IS the ONLY person to EVER receive the codename FOX. Hell, I'd clone him.

So in a nutshell, the guy in the picture is Raiden's counterpart/Grey Fox's other clone. The 'Liquid' to your 'Solid'. TA-DA! :D
