Retro Reunion: Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Gamer Limit: "Sonic The Hedgehog is known by nearly every gamer, some know the current hedgehog; a sorry excuse for a character, constantly appearing in games that struggle to be a mediocre experience. However many remember the spiky blue speedster in his prime, back in the days when SEGA was equal with Nintendo."

Sonic at his prime, it doesnt get much better than this, without a doubt a gaming masterpiece.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles is by far the best Sonic of them all. Lock on technology blew my little mind back in the day.

Sonic 3 was pretty awesome, but 2 will always be my favorite.

Ah yes the original Sonic games from the days of my youth. Whenever I fire up an emulator it's usually to play one of them. Sonic 2 is a cherished classic. I still remember reading EGM way back in the day and the anticipation of titles such as it. On top of that, I'll always be a fan of the Genesis over the SNES. I love my SNES, don't get me wrong, but the Genesis just had that arcade appeal. And some of the games just had some fantastic music. In the Sonic games but also in games like Shinobi 3. Yuzu Koshiro is where it's at. Also, leave is not forget: 1-9-9-2-1-1-2-4. :)

As a matter of fact, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were the same game in Japan. If you've ever gone into the level select mode of Sonic 3, you'll see levels of Sonic and Knuckles that aren't accessible in the American version of the game. SEGA split the game into 2 separate games as a marketing ploy. Quite an ingenious one at that.

Why aren't all of these old games readily available on home consoles?? I'd pay good money for this... man, if only to take me back to those carefree days.

Huh? But they are all available, aren't they? There's a Sonc Mega Collection on the previous generation consoles, and several Sega collections with Sonic games on them.

Anyhow, Sonic 2 is my favorite. Sonic 3 had the coolest options and style, but I think that the levels aren't very fun.
