"I find Oblivion boring – it's an MMO without multiplayer," says The Witcher's Michal Madej, chief designer on the game in an exclusive interview with PCGZine, the free PC games magazine. "We're similar in terms of graphics, we also use cutting edge visuals, and we're also trying to reach casual gamers. But Oblivion is more about freedom and a huge world to explore, whereas we have a great story to explore. In Oblivion you can finish the story in a couple of hours or miss the story altogether. Our game is about the plot, so it's more like a book or film. I think Oblivion will appeal to people who don't have much else to do. I don't have the time to sacrifice for it." You can read more in the full interview in issue 4 of PCGZine which has just been published.
The magazine is a completely free digital magazine, written by professional UK journalists. As well as The Witcher exclusive, issue 4 includes a hands-on preview of Empire Earth III, a preview of Frontline, reviews of Command & Conquer 3, STALKER, Jade Empire, Runaway 2, Resident Evil 4 and, well, tonnes more.
CD Projekt Red developers have shared their thoughts on Gwent, hinting at the card game making its comeback in The Witcher 4.
The Witcher 4 developer CD Projekt Red is working closely with Epic Games in order to bring structural improvements to Unreal Engine 5.
As a dev, I can tell you that with 5, Epic made quite a leap. It perhaps may have done *too much* of a fidelity leap that most of its target hardware (Both PC and Consoles) struggles to hit 60FPS with all the new cutting edge features they added.
It may have had some issues with this generation to find a good home, but by PS6 the engine will have matured and found a good matching partner 🙏
Now that Sweet Baby is involved in this game. I’m really concerned it’s going to turn into a woke agenda poster child. I hope not but after what happened to the tv show, I won’t be holding my breath on this one.
