Honest Gamers: Lux-Pain Review

Honest Gamers writes: "I applaud Ignition for daring to release a non-hentai visual novel in the West. Hentai games often get away with lackluster storytelling because they include pictures of naked girls. Lux-Pain doesn't have that luxury. It actually needed to be good. Unfortunately, after playing dramatic titles like Fate/Stay Night and Snatcher, this just doesn't impress me. Sweeping arm movements and dramatic wrist-clutching may look fancy, but they can't mask the storyline's mediocrity. The game's different, but it's not good".

GamesWeasel: Lux Pain Review

GamesWeasel writes: "Luckily the voiceover work is better. A decent amount of the dialogue is actually spoken by some worthwhile actors and while what they are saying doesn't often match up with what's on the screen, it usually makes a lot more sense. However it is also out of sync with the dialogue onscreen which often means you will often have finished reading it before it before the dialogue is half way through. All the music and sound effects are wonderfully atmospheric; the laments of lingering doubts and forgotten ghosts, it might be advisable to turn the volume up and close your eyes. You won't be missing too much apart from some shoddy English usage and barely animated drawings".
