PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe - The Biggest Version Yet is Portable

PS Blog : "Phew… it's a busy week… after teasing everyone about the new you-name-it PixelJunk game, it's also time to release specific information about the new version of PixelJunk Monsters that we have prepared meticulously for the PSP. Make the PSP and PS3 more linked together.
Make trophies for PSP games.
Make it so that when I play PixelJunk Monsters on my PSP and earn a trophy it gets in my trophie collection on my PS3 user.

= Total win, more PSPs and games sold.

Trophies aren't important. There weren't any trophies back then, and games were just as fun

As far as the core element of the game is concerned, you're right. I still play a game to simply enjoy and win it. But trophies do help to extend gameplay. I played through the SP portion of RFOM twice (initially and then once more right before R2 was released). I then won R2. But ya know what? I found myself playing sections of R2 over and over again, using different weapons and their secondary fire options for the trophies. I had a blast doing it and never realized that most of time playing RFOM, I only used the most effective gun. Trophies coerced me into varying my gameplay and I gained a deeper appreciation for it as a result. It's never been about my gamerscore or my trophy level. For me it's just enough that the developers acknowledge my OCD :)

Infected - spot on. +1. PSP trophies FTW. DD games on the PSN contain trophies as well as PS3 disk-based skus. I don't see why PSP titles shouldn't be included. I hope Sony implements this quickly as they are the only one of the 3 that offer games in the DD/console/portable arena and have an achievements system in place.

I played trough RFOM 6 times and never cared once about the trophies

A tonne of news being pumped out this week

I don't get it. Why not just release the updates for the current PJM on PS3 so that Remote Play will work? What is it with the no-love for remote play? Dual-release PJM Deluxe for both PSP/PS3.

but limiting... still a greaaaat feature... but having the game straight up for the psp is even greater...

Wow that is unexpected for such an old, but good game. First time the game has been on a console that wasn't Sony.

PixelJunk Comes to PlayStation Now

Posted by Dylan Cuthbert on Aug 31, 2015 // President and Executive Producer, Q-Games Ltd.:
If you know anything about Q-Games, you know that we made a name for ourselves during the PlayStation 3 era with our acclaimed PixelJunk series. Debuting way back in 2007, we were one of the first indies to cut our teeth on the newly released console. Our idea for the series was simple: rework old school gaming concepts in beautiful high-definition visuals, while keeping the easy to learn, difficult to master gameplay that made us fall in love with games in the first place.
