Eidos Increasing Merchandising

GrE writes, "Square Enix President and CEO, Yoichi Wada, plans to help Eidos increase its merchandising output following the company's acquisition last week. But he doesn't expect the existing team to take on the workload, as they have plenty on their plate already. Instead, Wada will be hiring new staff members to execute the plan, which he believes will generate additional profit for the company."

Should be good news for collectors! I can imagine they have plenty of things they can make out of Eidos' franchises

Like a Lara Croft blow up doll? haha.. alright alright.. seriously though.. you're right.. there are a ton of things they could do with these games

Kaecyus3513d ago

Knowing that Squenix bought them out, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Lara Croft boobpads or Titpillows.

I'm actually happy for Eidos. I wonder if they'll make Tomb Raider RPG or something. What other franchises does Eidos have?

The classic hitman logo embroidered ballers! =D
A showcase version of course but dat would be cool.

More merchandising! WIN for consumers?

DNAgent3513d ago

If the quality of their merchandise is anything like the quality of their games then no, it's not a win for consumers.

Neco5123513d ago

I like the fact that they're bringing in new people to do this. MORE jobs for Eidos!

CrAppleton3513d ago

Hell yeah! This is great news! Most of us thought that people were going to be losing jobs over at Eidos when Square Enix took over.. so kudos to Wada for the extra effort

SpoonyRedMage3513d ago

As far as I know yer, it was developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos but Silicon Knights had something to do with it.

I'd love something LoK, anything actually!

It's a pretty good idea if done timely I guess, Square Enix is really known for making their toys oriented towards...adults. If they do the same to Eidos I think that would be a bit too much.
