ZoKnowsGaming: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo First Thoughts

ZKG writes "I have to commend THQ for releasing such a complete demo, it contains a lot of great content and the tutorials are ample and straightforward and from what I can tell you will need them. The controls aren't hard, they are very responsive but there are a lot of them and they are comprehensive, so if you want to be a brutal master of the octagon you are going to have to study."

Ive found countless glitches already...

thatruth20065479d ago

I have played the demo extensively and I pretty much agree with what has been said here. I think that the easier levels are so easy as to make it more appealing to casual gamers. The expert level is nuts as has been said, if Shogun takes you down its a wrap and if you play as Shogun Liddell knocks you out. However, overall I did find it very enjoyable and I think it has very good replay value and should be very fun to play online. I really captures the feeling of UFC that any second the fight could be over by KO and submission and that is important. With the game releasing on the 19th, its probably already locked so the glitches probably wont get fixed before it ships but the beautiful think about this generation of systems is that you have the opportunity to correct things like this through software updates so all is not lost.

Five Underrated Games That Should Have Gotten More Love

MouseEatsCat writes:

"Game development is a slow, sluggish process. But when a game is made, most of the time it’s made with love and care and a lot of effort. So it’s not nice to see good games go by almost unnoticed. I’ve decided to compile a list of the five best fairly recent underrated games that went unnoticed when released."

I did not/ do not understand why so many people liked blur i thought it was not very good as for the others i cant say anything. though i was hoping MAG would of been on the list was playing it last night nice to see there is still a community playing the game after so long and despite its lack of reception!

Kurt Russell4088d ago

I loved blur. It had loads to do on the single player, and a good online system. The courses were varied with locations a little different to most racers. Also to top it all off it was very pretty with laser beams and disco light streaks chasing after people... That and it allowed me to drive a rat look beetle :)

I hope that helps you to understand at least why some people may have liked it.

OOG4088d ago

agreed blur was awesome

EbeneezerGoode4088d ago

Agreed. Blur was awful. Truly a terrible game. If was nowhere near the developer's previous efforts on quality nor gameplay.

If anything BLUR was over-rated. Big Time. It was really messy looking, and totally non-fun to play.

Hicken4088d ago

I had a VERY different opinion of Blur. I thought it was an excellent game. Had lots of fun, and wouldn't mind a sequel later this gen or next.

FaSCoRP4088d ago

Blur was good. The point is it was hard, some people does not have the guts, patience or skill to keep up. It was a Bizarre game, you have to be skilled

EbeneezerGoode4088d ago

Really? So that's why I absolutely LOVED PGR3 is it? Blur was nowhere near the class of PGR3 and that is why it failed for me. The cars felt weird, the tracks looked cartoony, the over bright neon mess of pick ups were ill considered and immersion ruining. It was TOO arcade for it's own good.

FaSCoRP4086d ago

Well but Blur never tried to be a Racing Sim, it was like a Mario Kart with a nice graphic engine a more "not so kart" handling.

EbeneezerGoode4086d ago

well maybe it SHOULD have tried to be more, it's poor reception showed it didn't please many people but I'm happy if you got fun out of it. I believe they could have done a lot better based on their past games.

I hope EA does not get the exclusive license renewal for Madden.

Dark_Overlord4332d ago

EA needs to be up in court on anti competitive charges, this being another in a long line of sh*t they pull. The worst though is the crap they pull with football, I mean making sure no one else can make a deal with the clubs is complete BS.

TrueGaming4332d ago

All I have to say is I called it & it is for the better, can't wait to play it !!!
