KiwiBox: Monsters vs. Aliens Review

"But not everything is rosy and happy. This game is roughly 6-8 hours long and it’ll feel like a 20 hour game. Things that start off fun and exciting quickly become repetitive. In the first level alone there are three Susan segments that are exactly the same. You speed down the same catwalk to the same massive door that you wave your Wiimote around as the directions dictate to open, and then you move on to B.O.B. or The Missing Link. Did we really need that? Do we really need The Missing Link battling the same puzzles over and over again? By the time you get to the final level you may be wondering if this game ever ends. All the fun has been zapped from it. The repetitive nature is a flaw throughout the whole game. Every segment just feels like the same thing over and over again. The humor is hit and miss, but it’s simply aimed for the youngsters. Ultimately, this is a game aimed at the 5-10 year old group and they’ll love it. Unlike many games aimed at them (and based off an animated movie) Monsters vs. Aliens doesn’t talk down to them. Experienced players will find the game to be a cakewalk, but young gamers will find this somewhat challenging. Monsters vs. Aliens is out now on the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PC, and PS2."
