Games2C: Mytran Wars Review

Mech customisation is a big part of this game and there'll be a fair amount of head scratching as the interface isn't as cleanly laid out as we would like to see. Equally, the slower turn–based nature of this title isn't going to appeal to folks who like immediate action found in the likes of the Real Time Strategy genre. But for what it does – which is the provision of a robust, depth filled sci–fi strategy title, it does very well. An ideal way to waste a few hours on a boring train journey.

Diehard GameFAN: Mytran Wars Review (PSP)

Mytran Wars has good presentation, but the substance doesn't quite live up to it. While there's a good number of customization options to tinker with, there's a lack of unit variety, and the game's pace dragged, which made it difficult to sit through more than one or two battles at a time. Against other SRPG juggernauts on the PSP such as Jeanne d'Arc, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, and the first and second Disgaea games, this pales in comparison.

Digital Chumps: Mytran Wars Review

Digital Chumps: "Mytran Wars has a lot going for it. Whenever I have time, I like to read through the manual before playing a game, and in reading through the manual of Mytran Wars, I was impressed at how much the game has to offer. After creating my profile, I was all set to start on the very lengthy campaign (it's a good thirty-plus hours). First impressions were good; an opening cutscene was presented in a slick comic book style with cool characters and professional voiceovers. You can't judge a game by its cutscenes, no matter how bad or good, but it was encouraging."
