Neoseeker Review: Demigod
Neoseeker writes:
"Extraordinary visuals can make a huge difference in assessing a game like Demigod, especially with so many DotA fans wondering if they should upgrade to something new. Gameplay-wise, it’s important to realize Gas Powered Games has made this sort of strategy game more accessible to gamers. While all the basic gameplay elements tie the two together, Stardock and GPG took what DotA started years ago and just ran with it, doing a bit of pruning along the way. The result is Demigod, a highly addictive multiplayer experience so immersive I had trouble putting it down long enough to write this review.
As with Dawn of War II, staunch RTS purists won’t be too pleased with all the liberties GPG took while composing Demigod, but for gamers who aren’t afraid of a little genre-ambiguity — myself included — Demigod is a worthwhile investment of both time and money. It’s a cleaner, more simplified kind of strategy game that can accomodate players with varying RTS experience, and anyone who finds traditional RTS games too tedious might welcome the change.
Congratulations to Gas Powered Games and Stardock, on making such a drool-worthy title."
