NowGamer Review: Phantasy Star Portable

Like Godzilla’s presence over the cityscape of Japan, the grip of Monster Hunter on the Japanese populace is intimidating. Though Capcom has chosen to move the series to Wii for its next iteration, the ad hoc multiplayer frenzy of the PSP game is still quite the immovable object in its home territory. It must be frustrating for Sega, as the Monster Hunter games play on the concept introduced in Phantasy Star Online back in 2000. With Phantasy Star Portable, then, Sega hopes to wrestle back some of the audience that it itself created, or at least tap into the lucrative demographic of ad hoc-obsessed Monster Hunter players.
