But there he was, a 25-year-old rookie digging in against the Cleveland Indians’ Rafaél Perez in the bottom of the ninth inning of a taut 2-2 contest. With just two outs left in regulation, Yankee relievers were already warming up in the bullpen in preparation for extra innings."
