GamesAreEvil Review: Stormrise

GrE writes, "As I awake, I'm almost immediately rushed into battle. Who am I? Where did I come from? Who the hell are all of these people around me? These are questions that our hero Geary couldn't answer if he tried. Though amnesia is a tactic that's used far too often, it works well here, building a much more enriched story towards the later parts of the game. However intriguing the story may be, the gameplay mechanics are so flawed, that chances are you won't want to fight your way to the end of it."

I have heard that this games leaves much to be desired. Kinda sad really.

CrAppleton5904d ago

Very much so.. The story was great, but the gameplay was seriously lacking

Oh man, this is a disappointing score. I was hoping for at least a passable RTS, especially from Sega. . .

and...the hero's name is really Geary?

bgrundman5904d ago

that is what I said about Geary... sounds like something your mother would make up if she were some kind of a drug addict.

CrAppleton5904d ago

LMAO.. yeah.. I was in shock as well

Neco5125904d ago

What the hell kinda name is Geary???

reluctant_gamer5904d ago

Appears to be another "looks are deceiving" deal. The game looks awesome, but... if the whole package isn't there, pretty isn't enough to make it a good game.

A lot of good ideas thrown into bad development, that's about what it looks like

Anyone else have those issues with the game? freezing of troops and what not?
