QSF5.com's Exclusive Watch 2009 Rev. 0.2 feature. Counting and looking out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii exclusives for the year 2009.
Ugh . . . are they counting Party Babies Wii and the Imagine series as exclusives? If so, this is dumb, lol.
When did the Wii become a serious console? lol. But seriously, ofcourse Ninty has more exclusives, because it misses out on all the best games! I didn't know Microsoft had so many exclusives this yer. I'll need to find out what they are. But Sony clearly triumphs. 2009 should be another good year for the big shiny black box.
I think the real reason they put the Wii in there was for fear of being called "Fanboys" when comparing the other 2. Now they are more... Diverse... How many people really care about the wii really on here or on the web in general compared to the other 2?...
I'm waiting to see Mario Bingo and Super Smash Bros Take A Nap. "I'm winning again! I caught that white spot!" "That's your cataract, Grandpa. You haven't actually turned the Wii on yet." "What the hell's a Wii? Where'd I get this remote? My right hand is tingling! It's a damn heart attack!" "No, it's turned on now. The controller is supposed to vibrate like that." "Who the hell are you? What does this remote turn on!?"
on the M$ side i've only heard of Ninja Blade, Star Ocean, and the Halo games...and none of them appeal to me on the Sony side, i own KZ2 and plan on buying inFamous, GoWIII, Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain. it's really weird how i went from playing my 360 a crap ton and never touching my PS3 to the complete opposite starting in '09... M$ needs to bring it next year because their exclusive list this year is mehhhhhhhh.
thats obviously fake its a well know fact the 360 has waaaaaay more exclusives then the ps3
Its ok bro.... I know its hard to accept and btw did you even read the article Lol ?
- God of War 3 - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Ratchet & Clank : A Crack in Time - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - Infamous - Gran Turismo 5 - Killzone 2 - Final Fantasy XIII Versus - Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer - L.A. Noire - Massive Online Game - Quantum Theory - Demon's Souls - MLB 09: The Show - Yakuza 3 - White Knight Chronicles - Team ICO Game - WarDevil - Under Siege - WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within - Kingdom Hearts III - NBA 10 - DC Universe Online - Lumines Supernova
lol at who disagreed with my post... do you think that those arent ps3 exclusives?
All games made for that system are made "exclusive" by default because of the remote.
"Sony’s PlayStation 3 will continue maintain the quality over quantity mantra for its exclusives" So tired of reading stuff like this. This is just another topic brought up to flame and flame only.
You are tired of it already? Get used to it. Their exclusives need to sell more, but there are a lot of "gamers" out there that wont buy a PS3 yet.
I figure that's all sites like N4G are good for these days. But it's good when an ACTUAL news article floats by. There will always be flamebait as long as there are exclusives and people with conflicting attitudes. I'm sorry, but I just don't get people who defend Microsoft. It's like people get excited over evil corporations rather than games and features!
@Pennywise If your a gamer and you haven't bought a PS3 yet, what are you waiting for?!?!?
In all honesty, I didn't see anything that translated into, "just another topic brought up to flame and flame only." It sounded like the guy was predicting-- predicting being the key word --that Sony will put out fewer exclusives of good quality. "Quality over quantity" is a figure of speech... He didn't say, "Sony's exclusives will be higher quality than Wii or 360" (That's a HHG title lol). Whether you felt this was implied is the beauty of interpretation I suppose. It might be hard for you imagine, but just because someone says something positive about one company doesn't mean they are flaming "fanboys". Also, why does everyone get so defensive when Wii exclusives are posted? The author did not insinuate that more exclusives equals the "winner of the console wars". He just posted some numbers and made his prediction based off those. Ugh... perhaps my rambling is all for not...
I think anybody with a brain can pretty much sum up what he meant by "quality over quantity mantra". It's a phrase that's been used a lot here on N4G that really needs to stop. Now I'm sure it can be taken different ways, but this was just a slick way of starting a flame in my book.
I might be inclined to agree with you had there been any other "pro-ps3" or "anti-360" undertones. But, from what I read, there were none. Perhaps, though, that the whole article was a coy way of bashing the 360 and Wii and very subtly stating the PS3 the best... Or you're taking things out of context, when the article is actually very straightforward.
is that updated king of fighters 2? i couldn't make out what that means.
"Sony’s PlayStation 3 will continue maintain the quality over quantity mantra for its exclusives." So true... B-b-b-b-but teh salez :D
That's right, keep disagreeing X-Tards jealous... :D B-b-b-b-but teh salez :D
lookout OmarJa, the salesman will read this and disagree with u =/ Edit: oh, too late, Xbox's salesman ppl already did it, dang u__u
LOL isn't that the exact same scenario that was played out with the xbox1 vs ps2? (except a role reversal) Yeah. is a bit ironic innit?
no it's not the same, as the ps2 has far more killer exclusives than the xbox. Even though the xbox has greater graphical capability, it's not fully utilized like the ps2 was. For instance, it doesn't have epic looking games like shadow of the Colossus and God of war 2. Your logic fails.
no, actually you missed the point. My point was that last gen the ps2 sold more while the 360 had the undeniably technically superior exlusives. but yeah. Spin away.
It's all about the exclusives and in this area both sony and nintendo dominate. My friend just told me he's going to get a ps3 to get killzone 2 after coming over to my house and beating the campaign with me. Then he'll have a ps3 and a 360, best of both worlds. PS3 baby.
When I read '2009 thus far' I assumed it was charting games that have actually been released. "What’s the point of this article? Isn’t it just ammunition for list wars?!" Yep.
Who cares who has the most exclusives from the 360 or PS3. Here's a news flash for flame baiters out there. Multiplatform games sell more usually than first party games. The biggest game release to date of 2009 by far is RE5 for the 360 and PS3 (Not counting Wii, DS, or PSP.) RE5 will easily sell more units in North America and Europe than Halo Wars and Killzone 2 combined on one single platform (PS3 or 360 don't know which.) Let's not forgot about Call of Duty (whatever the next one is called), Grand Theft Auto, Madden 2010, NBA Live 2010, 2K10 (baseball, basketball, hockey.) I just think it's a shame to talk about who has the most exclusives when the heavy hitters are the multiplatforms. The same successful games typically sell the best (Halo 2, God of War 3, Gears of War 2, Killzone 2 see a pattern here?) So lets not think someone is blazing a new and radically different trail here. It's VERY rare that a new IP is a success. Think about it, for every God of War or Gears of War, I'm sure any of you can name 5 crappy exclusives each on the PS3 or 360 that sold poorly. Personally I'm excited about Deadrising 2 another Capcom creation.
I do. Be real dud, indeed there are some multiplats blockbusters that sell much better than most exclusives, GTA4 comes to mind, but being multiplats render them neutral as a console seller. Exclusives define what a system is and make it a must have. Got not exclusives? buy the one with exclusives and play both exclusives and multiplats.
That maybe the case in an initial launch of a console but your taking 3 years in and most "real gamers" have already decided which system they want. Now your looking to more casual gamers who really are not as interested in first party games. I just don't see first party games moving units like it used to. We're talking different times here. Most people will buy the system all their friends are playing. Not just because of an exclusive here or there. That's just my opinion.
I don't understand you're argument. If the best games are multiplatform in your opinion, then why wouldn't you own the console with the best exclusives? You get those multiplatform games on both consoles... No one except the execs care about sales. Gamers care about games so buying the console with the exclusives they want is the major driving force behind getting one. If I want Team ICO, GT5, Bionic Commando, COD6, etc. then I'm not gonna get a 360 for the last two games on the list.
I'm not saying the best games are multiplatform. I argued that the top sellers were multiplatform and not just on the 360 or PS3 together but individually compared to the respective console exclusives. My point was that games today are more communal. You play games in 2009 with friends or family online as opposed to the old school everyone in my living room play. It gives you freedom to play at any time with all your buddies in the comfort of your own homes. This is the real selling power of any console. If you want to play Madden or Call of Duty with a friend(s) who has a 360's? You buy a 360. You want to play Grand Theft or RE5 with a friend(s) who has a PS3? You buy a PS3. I think old school gamers look to much into the exclusives and not into the experience. Sure you can start up any of the games I mentioned and go to town in co-op modes with perfect strangers, but the experience is better with someone you know like in your community (High School, College, Co-Workers, or Church.)
the great games, no matter the platform.
@Cenobia What kingjames said: "Now your looking to more casual gamers who really are not as interested in first party games" So if casual gamers don't care for 1st party games and they only buy multiplatform, why not buy a cheaper console if they only interested in multiplatform games?
