Kids will eat this up, no question. Older gamers who like either Sonic or good action games owe it to themselves to at least rent this, if only to see whether or not it'll leave the correct taste in their mouth before committing to a purchase. At least half of these people will be pleasantly surprised. For the rest, and for those who only live for the platforming element of Sonic, there's always the oft-overlooked and now bargain-priced Secret Rings, or the HD rendition of Sonic Unleashed.

Actually I am in my 20's and have gone back and played many of the Sonic games made, personally I find a lot of the older games to be absolutely awful with a particular nod to the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I know a good game when I play it and the games on my list and ones that are truly great and the pinnacle of the Sonic experience.
Well. I guess an opinion is an opinion.
But just because you can't make it through a game doesn't make it bad.

1. Sonic Adventure
2. Sonic 2
3. Sonic and Knuckles
4. Sonic 3
5. Sonic the Hedgehog 1991
That's pretty much my list, only I'd put S&K and Sonic 3 at 1 and 2. And maybe drop Adventure for Sonic Chaos for GameGear/Master System, I had so much fun with that game.

Being a Sonic fan for a majority of my life, I’ve played nearly every Sonic game that’s ever existed. As such, I’ve played each game so many times that I’ve even began collecting them as of recently. Doing so, I’ve had the opportunity to play games I haven’t even looked at in several years.
